Hello! With the recent introduction of custom seas to all pirates, I'd like to make a simple request: players on PC can build mods (of course you, Rare, will have to build a modding API for this) for custom seas. Of course, the PC players can make the mods and console players can join. I'm requesting that we can build new factions, enemies, and world events. Custom Seas opened a segway for creativity in our community and Modding support will open it even more. Maybe we can have a special version of custom seas dedicated to modding (ie: custom seas or modded seas). In Modded Seas, a subdivision of Custom Seas, you are free to get gold, commendations, doubloons, reputation, and deeds. You, Rare, can curate mods to see what is allowed (Rare's EULA and T.O.S) and what isn't. Also, this might be unpopular, but you can pay ancient coins for these mods. These mods are third party mods made by Sea of Thieves players alike. These developers need money too! In a sandbox game where you can do whatever you want, custom seas opened a doorway for so much new content and ideas. I hope you take my feedback into consideration and happy sailing!
Modding for Custom Seas (Modded Seas)
I skimmed this while queueing for a Destiny 2 run, so if I missed this, my bad; but I'm pretty sure the ToS for modding and file modification isn't a Rareware policy, it's an Xbox policy. Idk how feasible it would be, including moderation, for Rare to allow modding API. If it works, it would be super cool though.
@boneheart1237 Bethesda has modding built into fallout and Elder scrolls even on console, so adding it to SoT wouldn't be outside the range of possibilities.
