Pirate Generator

  • Hi I am writing to suggest an improvement to the current pirate selection system. While the "Infinite Pirate Generator" has its charm, it is often frustrating and time-consuming for players who have a specific vision for their character.
We would like to request the implementation of a dedicated Pirate Generator UI (as seen in community concepts), which would allow players to set specific parameters before generating. Key features should include:
    • Age, Body Type, and Dirtiness Sliders: To control the basic physical appearance.
    • Gender and Ethnicity Toggles: To narrow down the pool of generated pirates.
    • Wonkiness/Modifier Settings: To allow for more unique or more "standard" looks.
    • Pirate Seed: The ability to share or lock specific seeds.
Allowing us to filter these attributes would not take away from the game's aesthetic, but it would significantly improve the first-time user experience and save hours of repetitive clicking. Please consider giving us more control over our pirate’s identity.

  • It's a pirate game dude, not the Sims. Grab an ugly mug that makes you happy and just roll with it.

In SOT you barely see your face anyway...

  • We already have Mimic Dart to look like other players pirates with ease, but limited.
Dont need to allow other pirates to have a similar name, and look like your pirate, going around and predending to be you.

  • I believe there's been mods on here who have explicitly said that the generator is fine as is. It's designed to be a case of 'no pirate is perfect', hence the wonkiness, crookedness etc etc!

You shouldn’t take the moderators’ words as gospel. Moderators are simply stating the ‘current’ truth.
Otherwise, Safers Seas would never have come into being, nor would there have been any return to the arena (even in a revamped form, as was the case in Season 19).

Just see a blade, and then the Ferryman's doors! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Unless your chilling with some alliance, then you see their face.

Respectfully, to be fair here, I'm pretty sure none of the mods are psychic, since what they posted at the time was true for the current time being, as you've stated. The mods aren't the game designers, and they probably have no say as to what gets added or doesn't. The addition of Safer Seas/arena had nothing to do with the mods. Changes happen sure, but that's from another department probably way outside the boundary of their scope. Their job is to enforce the current policies and positions of the developers on this forum with the current state of the game. Just because things change, doesn't mean they were wrong and now have to eat their words.

Is having the option to choose your pirate's features a good idea? Maybe. Maybe not. It's up to the developers if they want to change that feature.
