Can We Have Cosmetics? Please.

I would be great if rare would focus on the outpost shops for once and give us a few pirate emporium level cosmetic drops for gold.

The last time i've been exited for outpoststock was years ago.

Give me something new to grind for. Make it Hard to GET.

@howletzer Blazing sails is a fully different game than SoT. The guy can devote more time to making cosmetics because BS is a battle royale. It doesn't need to have the same level put into it in regards to lore and new mechanics.

Sot has enough time to make full cosmetics for the emporium.
Why wouldn't they have time to make some good cosmetics for the outpost shops?

The team that makes cosmetics doesn't have anything to do with the lore team or the team that makes new mechanics.
So that reasoning doesn't work.
In addition to that its a team of people who make those cosmetics and not just one guy, so they should have more then enough time to make something great, but for some reason they decide to give us parts of basic looking shipsets and reskins of the same weapon/equipment sets each month.

Its just lazyness.
Or at least thats what it looks like to most people.

@dermasterbob They make 2 emporium sets per season... that's like 30 total items, if that. Every 3 months. And again, totally different game, totally different dev cycle and goals.

That is irrelevant... Them being separate doesn't change that it's still one company which has to move resourc es around to do these things. Different teams, but the same money. They aren't just magically able to not have restrictions because they aren't the same team. You really aren't good at thinking are you? One guy who has nothing to do once his simplistic game is working other than add cosmetics, the other is multiple teams working together to make a very complicated game stay working. You complain that they don't add enough, but then you also complain when they add stuff instead of making the game run better. You just wanna complain. Look at the difference in the scope of the cosmetics too. BS cosmetics are much more simplistic and wayyyyyy less detailed and stylised. Also, to anyone saying that BS has more cosmetics than SoT, you are so wrong it hurts. There are over 1000 time limited items in SoT that will never return. There is only 400 total player customisation items in the ENTIRE game of BS right now. I just personally counted. There are more than 2x as many items in SoT that will never be given out again, that you can no longer ever unlock, than there are in the entirety of Blazing Sails.

Trying to insult me wont make my argument invalid and it makes yourself look a bit silly.

Me and you know nothing about rares recources, but im very sure that theyll be able to afford making one decent full cosmetic set each season without going bancrupt and if thats not the case than sot doesnt have much time left.

Of course ill complain about, for example, duble waves because it makes boarding or swimming in general terrible.
Ill also complain about the lack of free cosmetics, while the emporium is flooded with items each month, without fail.
But those are completely different problems handled by completely different teams.
I would be more than happy if rare made a minimalistic season and told us theyre fixing issues for the next 3 months.
But adding cosmetics and fixing bugs are two different things, handled by different teams, where people cant be switched around, since they have completely different jobs, so logically it should be expected to be fixed at the same time.
If those problems are fixed in the future, ill make sure to praise rare here in the feedback threads.

The recent outpost stock updates couldnt be more simplistik, so that argument doesnt make any sense, at least for the outpost stock.

Looking at emporium sets we have a cowboy, a gladiator, the sandman, a witch, magic tree people (baleful bloom), more magic tree people (forest's blessing), a chess player, raven fursuits, a halo spartan, a pig hunter, a monster hunter, a plague doctor, a minotaur, an owl, a wulf fursuit, a random king crown, a banshee, a paleontologist, and many more. None of those are the least bit piratey.
There's also a literal clown and a lamplighter for some reason?
Not one person in the world has ever had the dream of living out a pirate experience dressed as a lamplighter.

I did leave out some costumes that are fairly piratey, but the majority of them are only piratey because they're licensed additions from PotC and Monkey Island.

Some people don't count emporium cosmetics, which I think is fair. In that case, we have two separate full ninja outfits, one of which has a full ship and weapon set to go with. We have a full robin hood set. A musical maestro set.

For their 40th anniversary, Rare released some fun little cosmetics. A red headband. A red v neck. Some red boots. One makeup set split into three pieces.

We have roughly 30 tricorn hats currently attainable in the game. Tricorn hats are the epitome of pirate fantasy. Of that 30, over half of them are recolorings of others.

We need ACTUAL pirate cosmetics.

Agreed rare give us freaking piratecosmetics.

@howletzer yes yes yes yes yes we NEED more rewards for doing hard things in this game, level 200-1000 in GoF could have golden legendary curse, a DA reskin, a legendary sea dog weapons reskin, just make something for the game that isnt either "sell 100,000 chests of fortune" (its been 2 and a half years of this) or "YAY PIRATE EMPORIUM RESKIN TIME"

Id love to see more guild rewards, maybe the full set to go with the ship set, and it should be just as hard to get, taking the 1000 levels and some actually hard challenges, not just "sink 2 skelly ships"

I think that rare should make some kind of "Legendary Trials" where you have to complete either 500 or 1000 of each world event, and for each one you do you get 1 piece of the ship set, with 1000 fotds being the sails.

It would be great to have a DA Pro Edition kind of set, where it costs like 50 million per piece and is locked behind level 500 in 3 companies like PL+

I'd love to see even rare make each piece of the lvl 100 outfits into its own item, like it'd be so cool to get the Athena golden arm for like lvl 400 in GoF or the order of souls eye wrap for doing 500 oos voyages

@potatosord I can't remember the last time I saw something new in a season besides Burning Blade that I actually wanted to grind for, Blue man curse was mid, all the titles from the last years seasons have all been mid at best, burning Blade was the best season between now and season 8, and it was only interesting for maybe a month until everyone finished their commendations.

The "cowboy" set is a perfect example of this, rare just adds whatever silly goofy thing they want to the emporium, then acts like their "expanding the sandbox"

I'd love to see some basics get added to the shops, basic colors for pants, shirts, some overcoats, wide brimmed hats, simple gloves that aren't wraps or are really clunky, some normal looking boots.

@howletzer Something I think would be really cool is a title for stealing and selling 100, 10, or 1 of every item (and I mean every item in the game) for the title "Thief of the Seas"

or a ship set for completing hg levels and challenges, like sinking 1000 ships, taking on 100 champion battles, doing 50 ten streaks, hitting 1000 chainshots, hitting 500 1 balls, hitting 100,000 cannons. something that actually would take months to do, and would make people go back to hg for the ship set

@howletzer honestly I'd be okay if rare didn't release season 18 until like January/February if they added a cosmetics dump into the shops, even reskins of some stuff is fine, just some black, white, brown versions of a bunch of different items. I'd love to see more white clothing items, like a white wide brimmed hat

@howletzer 100% should have more gof cosmetics and why can’t we have cool belts? With holsters, equipment pouches, chains to go under our shirts, earrings, and why are all the pants skinny jeans? Skinny jeans are cringe
