We completed the skeleton fleet world event and none of the ships gave loot after being sunk.

You should make a ticket, so the devs can investigate.
I have reported this, seems like when they sink near sea dog arena rocks, rather than the loot spawn shifting away slightly, the birds appear but the loot remains underwater. I have swum down and grabbed before but considering youre still in the battle with next round spawning its far from ideal. For now I'd recommend try to lure the ships away from any rocks
There's a giant bug hole that's been in the game for quite a while now near sea dogs tavern. If a skeleton ship, meg, kraken, whatever drops loot in that 4ish map square range just west of the tavern, it will despawn.
You can drop a FOTD key in there and it'll still show on the map but it will be despawned and un-retrievable.
It's kinda hilarious that that bug is STILL in the game.
Flotsam (partnered streamer) has been dropping stuff in there for what feels like YEARS now.
