International Disability Pride Month (July)

I agree, though I do think most people would see it as another pride flag and make the unfortunate jokes about pride and disability being linked. That shouldn't stop it from being added, but it should be considered. I don't want more things that people with underdeveloped brains will use to target harassment.

I respectfully disagree with this and hope people read the rest and dont stop with my first sentence. I will start by saying I have no problem with people that are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have many friends who are part of it and even my first and longest friend of nearly 50 years is Trans and runs a large corporation in the drag world and has made films raising awareness of inclusiveness. We all have a choice and do what makes you happy. Also I have been legally determined by a court of law to be disabled myself so I understand the struggles of disability first hand. With saying that I believe the pride flag they have added in the game fully covers all LGBTQIA+ disabled or not. In the past Rare did collabs with different charities and had exclusive cosmetics. All of these were wonderful as well. Yet it does seem that they have steered away from doing those anymore and as of late the only things that have happened in the game are pride related. Personally there are many many things out there such as the fight against many childrens ailments and diseases, cancer, hunger, veterans of wars that need care due to injury or mental stuggles, mental health, people displaced due to wars and natural disasters and so on. These things cost lives at an alarming rate. There are thousands and thousands of lives lost to these things every single day and they should hold preference over pride movements. In fact there are many people who are LGBTQIA+ that fall under the categories that should be of higher preference that I listed above. In the end we all choose the lifestyle we live and our own paths to happiness. Respect should be given to anyone, pride or otherwise, for how they choose to live their life. However there are more important things that save lives that should be focused on more. Have the fundraisers to get cosmetics like the old days of Sea of Thieves. Fundraisers that help to save the lives of many from every walk of life and not just petitions to add things to make people who have been included feel even more included while leaving out those that end up paying the ultimate price.

@venomous-sloth7 I don't see how adding a disability flag is belittling those movements. Yes, there are many problems on this earth. That being said, just because one issue is worked towards, it doesn't mean the other issues are less important or meaningless. We have to work to a better world, one issue at a time.

As a disabled person myself, I would love to see another flag that represents me and would also be open to other people and groups getting their representation as well.

@riptideatlantic my point was more towards the main focus that tends to get centered on in the game anymore is pride. They dont do the things for other causes anymore. When you tend to just focus on one thing you do in a sense belittle the diversity of helping many. A pride flag covers all pride and doesnt need broken down into a bunch of flags for every subcategory of pride you could think of. Its more of a its covered in one thing so everyones included and now you can try to help others who are in need of it. Im hoping im making sense of what im trying to say.

While yes the Pride Progress flag may cover all forms of pride, one shouldn’t assume everyone feels that way. The colours chosen on it for one do not represent mental/physical ailments, they represent someone’s potential gender or orientation. The Disability Pride flag and the shades of colours chosen for that do represent categories of disabilities and the injustices faced by those who are disabled.

More representation via pride flags that are recognised worldwide and by the communities that fly them is never a bad thing.
