Let us freely buy supplies until our gold runs out

  • PLEASE Rare let us buy captaincy supplies or crates or resources at vendors until our gold runs out. Buying them once and sailing to another outpost to buy them again is just annoying.
Reminder that it's still possible to get sunk with a huge load of supplies if the other crew is just better than you.

  • No unlimitted. Maybe as much as one trip to a sea fort gets you. Make it a buy all option and throw in 15 more chain shot. This way you can get back into HG faster.

Then why do something that is annoying??
Stop by fortress, camps and sea forts. Free supplies

  • They won't do this for the same reason they won't let us carry supplies over into the next session. This game has been carefully designed and balanced so that everyone starts every session on equal footing. Letting us freely buy supplies until our gold runs out would put those with more gold at a significant advantage. Yes it is possible to get sunk with a huge load of supplies if the other crew is just better than you, but supplies still count. Having a stack of 50 pineapples while your opponent can only afford 5 (or maybe none) definitely gives you an advantage.

Also, looking at it from the dev's/ creators perspective, what they want is for people to spend longer playing their game. Having you spend 10 minutes at the beginning of a session gathering resources, is far better for them and their statistics than letting you buy as much as you want instantly.

  • Current resources are perfect as it is and well balanced.

Not hard to gather resources while doing things in game, need cannon balls hit a fort, need cooked food go to a wreck, plenty of quick ways to get resources and you can collect other stuff at the same time also and sell it later.

Most times after playing I have way too much resources on my deck, most games we have fifteen or so storage crates, about six food crates, four or five cannon ball crates. Just so easy to get resources in game. Even hitting a couple islands can get you a fair bit.

  • I kinda agree but from a balance standpoint that really makes it so players who have more gold have more supplies more often. I do wish we could buy more supplies but I think unlimited is silly.

  • Unlimited is probably a bit too far. But maybe a set of HG glass specific supplies. A decent crate (or captaincy supply purchase) with a dececent number of cannons, chains, good food etc. Anything to get people back into the fight quicker. Limit it to people who have opted into HG at the time. Perhaps one puchase per fight. There would need to be some balance considerations of course.

  • I would love a "Get back in the game" crate... maybe only avaliable after losing an HG battle?

A few random supplies designed to keep the fight going.

  • @musicmee The pine and mango from a fruit crate, 50 wood, 50 cannons, probably about all it needs. Maybe higher numbers, but that's what you can normally get from the merchant. That plus captaincy supplies would probably be nice to help.

I love this idea. But make it An HG supply crate that requires you to pleadge to a HG faction as an emissary, no sinok needed. That way when you start for HG you go straight for it. Purchase is avaible from either the stranger in the Inn or the skelly at the reapers table.

Sloop: 10 chain and scatter, 5 of each throwable and fruit, 50 cannon and 30 wood.
Brig. 15 chain and scatter, 10 of each throwable and fruit, 75 cannon and 60 wood.
Galley: 20 chain and scatter, 15 of each throwable and fruit, 100 cannon and 90 wood.

Each time you sink in HG, your purchase record is wiped clean for all crates and supplies.
