The Story's of the Ancient Isles! Hope you enjoy!

  • The Tale of Ships, Flintlocks, and Kegs.... As we sailed along the calm seas of the Ancient Isles, a ship appeared in the distance, a brigantine, sailing right towards a fort. A crewman yelled across the decks "SHIP TO THE LEFT!!" As we grew closer and closer, our captain (at that time) walked up to me and said " The forts almost complete,...they're Athenas, and I'm in no mood to share..." When we pulled closer to the fort, we sent out a scout, he reached the island and made acquaintance with the crew then proceeded in developing a plan. When he returned to the ship he told us everything about the crew he had found out, they were not swabbies, but, they were no salts. Apparently one of the crew had a received the Blessing of Athenas Fortune, so we were cautious.... We managed to convince them to alliance and let us help take out the fort and split the loot. After we had conquered the fort we started splitting the loot, we convinced them to take half of the kegs and we take half in case of an "emergency" (meaning another ship attacking us, I dont know what logic was behind that at the time,... but hey it worked!), of course we just buried-hid ours. As they took their kegs to the crows nest and started getting the rest of the loot, the captain ordered me to distract them while he climbed up to the crows nest above.... Obeying his order! I played a shanty towards the front of the ship and asked them to all play along! (Probably asked if they would do that for a commendations or something..) As I played, the captain shimmied up the ladder, and another crewman stood with a faithful Eye of Reach at the ready in case all else failed! If you've ever heard the song 1812 you would probably know it involves cannons! But in our case it involved a Flintlock and a large boom..... As our captain reached the top of the ladder, our song neared its verse with cannon fire, and with absolutely perfect timing he yelled "READY AIM FIRE!!!!" He dropped a keg on the floor, and in a flurry of adrenaline, I took out my sword slashed a enemy crewman aside then pulled out my Flintlock and shot into the kegs he threw on deck AND WITH A GREAT BOOM!!, I was blown off the ship diving into the water as the rest of the ship and crew took the blunt of the impact, then the mast came down and the captain jumped off it with a bit of a stumble and lunged into the water!!! As we swam ashore we watched as the ship slowly sank into the crushing depths of a deep blue sea,.... After getting the loot and sailing to a nearby outpost we spotted the same crew sailing towards us at a lighting speed!!!! We sold the loot as fast as we could and prepared for battle! We took to the seas, each ship sailing towards each other full billow, as we neared, the captain turned the wheel spinning to the right as the crew fired! Volleys upon volleys of cannon fire flew threw the air, hitting crewmen on each of our decks! We flung ourselves over to their ship. I remember watching as we boarded our captain fire a shot from an Eye of Reach straight into the foot of their unsuspecting captain. As we fought and fought, eventually they ran out of supplies and sunk to the bottom of the sea..., once again swimming for shore... ---This story is based on true events that happened to me and my crew as we sailed the seas!

Cool story! But as pirates, the captain would have probably said "SHIP TO PORT!" instead of left since that is the official sailing term.
