Game Suggestions Weapon Meta

  • The balance of weapons used to be perfect. There was a clear line between bad players and good players. Then rare began an endless trail of horrible decisions about the weapon functions and balance that has ruined pvp experiences me.

    It all started with the removal of quickswap. What was the point of removing it? Bad players that just spam the sword were complaining about getting two tapped by good players. Quickswap was not overpowered unless you were already really good at the game and knew how to use it. It took a lot of talent at the game to be able to easily two tap people. Just like how it takes talent to use the sword dash in certain situations. But the sword dash isn’t considered an exploit so why was quickswap considered an exploit? It was CODED INTO THE GAME! Please bring quickswap back.

    Why was the blunderbuss nerfed? Was it because trash players were complaining about being one blundered? Geez rare you gotta stop spoon feeding trash players. It’s normal for games to have a weapon that can one shot.

    Why was the throwing knife and double barrel pistol added? Aren’t there enough glitches and bugs you guys could have fixed before adding those useless weapons?

    Yeah if you used the meta you were a “good player” and if you used the sword you were “bad”

    Following any meta instead of just pick the weapons you liked. That what games should be. No weapon should be a “must”

  • @dominator9787 Using quickswap used to take 2 minutes of practice and any fool could learn how to do it. Now you have to be a professional to learn how to shoot quickswap again. The blunderbuss was changed because of the future movement item, not hard to guess before that.

  • @dominator9787 Double gun shouldn't exist, given the way it was at launch it's obvious that no one tested this combat style. They created the delay to switch weapons, the players found a way to get around it.

    No, quickswap was not coded intentionally, what was coded was the delay for changing weapons, quickswap is a bug to cancel animation.

    I don't mind removing the sword dash, for me the best scenario would be to not have a double gun and not be able to fly with the sword, this would favor naval combat, with the board as something secondary.

    Flawed logic.
    For an exploit to work; It has to be coded into the game on some level. Since things not coded into the game literally don't exist in the game.

    For example: I can't exploit to get into a tank (the vehicle) in Dead by Daylight, because it's not coded into the game, nor do the assets exist in game.
    Whereas, in Left 4 Dead, there was a garage door a Tank (A monster, not the vehicle) could break through. The devs had coded it so it took massive damage to break it. More firepower than a fully stocked player could have. However, players learned that, if they melee the door enough times, it breaks & they skip 40% of the level. It was abused in Vs mode.
    It was 'coded into the game' but it was, flat-out, an exploit.

    Exploits are unintended effects that result from code and/or animations. Like quick swapping, or crud launching & dolphin diving.
    But they are still in the game's code in order to exist at all.

    In short; No. Quick swap was an exploit. Learn to play without it.

  • @guildar9194 I have learned to play without it. I just don’t like playing without it and I know that thousands of skilled players, including ones that advertise your game on YouTube and twitch, don’t appreciate its removal either.

  • @lleorb double gun should exist. You can’t force people to play a game the way you want to play it. The way a game is designed is only part of it. The way people play the game is what truly shows what the game is all about.

  • @ixxxoloff Quickswap was easy to learn but it was not easy to do it and hit shots. You can’t be brand new to the game and be able to two tap consistently.

  • @burnbacon Yes I wholeheartedly agree. They shouldn’t make some weapons better just so if you are bad you have an advantage over good players.

    Developers can, and what I said is that the way the double gun came about it wasn't planned or at least tested before going to retail. If this is the case, it is a fight that originated from a flaw in development, even if it is accepted today.

    No, the developers decide what the game should be, the idea, the concept, the directions the game should follow are decisions that are up to them... the most they can do is listen to the feedback, but the player does not decide what the game should be.

    I'm not saying to remove the double gun just because I don't like that style of play, that would solve problems with cheaters, toxicity (specifically spawnkill), alternative accounts infesting hourglass, it would make the PVP environment more friendly for new players, matching the stance Rare takes with PVE, it would make naval combat the main one(which in MY OPINION should be the central aspect of PVP in SOT).

    I specifically cited toxicity over spawn kill, but I THINK overall toxicity would decrease as well.

  • @lleorb what’s wrong with spawn killing? Is that not part of the game? It’s not toxic if you have a reason for doing it, and there is a scuttle option.

  • @dominator9787 I'm not talking about those cases. Whether in hourglass or adveture, it's not uncommon to see people wanting to spawnkill for absolutely no reason.

    Dude, this happened to me yesterday, on solo hourglass, an alternative account started pvp already throwing himself into doing this... He just didn't do it because I didn't let him approach and insisted on naval, a new/average player would be there dying.

    What wrong with it? Well depending how you go about it. Are you just doing it to just do it and annoy the enemy players not allowing the ship to sink as well?
    Preventing a player from spawning. Just so you have enough time to empty all barrels or steal loot (but again you can just sink ships now and get everything)

    Frankly there is no legit reason to spawn camp people anymore. But only to annoy players who funny enough refuse to scuttle. You be in the wrong mostly and I believe it’s a reportable thing.

  • @burnbacon 😂 this guy has had some traumatic experiences with spawn camping. Buddy it’s a game where you’re able to kill people so killing people is not reportable. If the person is annoyed then theyre perfectly able to leave.

  • @dominator9787 If you are Spawn Camping just for the sake of Spawn Camping, with no intention of sinking the boat, then it is definitely reportable.
