I feel that the pvp is a bit p2w because ultrawide monitors allow you to see much wider and normal cheap monitor users are stuck with a 90fov that feels like looking through a spyglass all the time.
Unfair PVP
@ixxxoloff make my screen 720 pixels or something tall? Yeah lets just not give players any options and decide for them great thanks.
@muumimorko1 that’s not pay to win. The game wasn’t designed for higher than 90 FoV and if someone uses a monitor that stretches things further, then the game looks broken and warped. Nothing is also stopping you from getting the same monitor if you truly think it’s unfair (which it isn’t).
Personally I think the Fov slider should be shifted +10-15 degrees higher, I mean does anyone know a SoT player that uses 60 fov?
But the p2w aspect is always present on pc games, I play with a 170hrz monitor and the game on a m.2 ssd. I imagine a lot of people have potato pcs that average about 30fps with some old hdd too. There's always gonna be a difference there.
Gonna be a real frustrating experience in SoT if you look at pvp as fair/unfair.
People are largely picking their own difficulty in this game as well as their own risk in Adventure.
Wanna win most of the time? brig with a crew that at least has the basics down. Even open crew brigs win a lot in this game now.
Enjoy solo? that's gonna cost some losses.
Wanna get the win condition most of the time? sell regularly
Wanna lose loot regularly? stack often
I play solo on an old laptop with cloud gaming, a controller, and wild input lag. There is a difference between fair play and fair fights, there are no fair fights. I choose QoL over winning all the time and I have very high QoL in the game. It's an adventure game, not a pvp game, gotta look at it like that or it'll chip away at you.
Unless you’re in HG all day and you’re Nessie or MSponge then that extra view isn’t going to do much for you.
It’s audacious of you to suggest that this game is even remotely pay to win, as if the publisher gets a cut off of those sweet ultra wide monitors. Lol.
Get to the point bro, you want a higher FOV as a setting so you can get (a perceived) advantage.
Just get good instead.
