New Tool: Wooden Swords for Dueling Crewmates

  • My favorite crew mate isn't very good at hand to hand PvP. He's a great helmsman and I've been sending him on away missions to other crews to try and spar some more.

I would love to have an equip-able wooden sword so I can make contact with my crew mate and we can practice swordplay.

  • Wooden swords makes this common suggestion so much better.

Feels like there is a cute immersion to it.

Thanks! Can you imagine the sounds of the wooden swords clanking?

  • Oooooh yes!

Hehe, it would also be amusing if ya got caught with a wooden sword by a real enemy.

    Ha! Wouldn't it though?

I did think about that - because in order for the game to register that you can "hit" your crew mate, it would most likely have to be a completely new tool and not a skin of the existing sword (since that is for enemies).

I like this idea, could really help with training other players and sharpen up their skills without actually hurting anyone.

  • grumble grumble

I don't wanna hear about it when you get sunk because you were busy dueling.

Unless it's a safer seas only feature.

  • There need to be guns for duelling too.

  • This reminds me of when I would take Sanji into jump force and encounter someone using a female character. For those unaware, Sanji can not harm a woman. In Jump Force, all of his attacks and lines are replaced with blowing kisses and hearts and his lines are changed to match.

I wouldn't switch to a character I was less good at. I would hold them hostage with a relentless assault and a patient defense until they swapped back out.

Wooden swords could either be trolly, inconvenient, or stylish as heck depending on the parties involved.
