I've been doing Shores of Gold for the Gold Curse, which, in my opinion, isn't that beautiful and could be much better.
When you do Shores of Gold from 1 to 9 the first time, well, 1 is cool, 2 is okay, but 3 to 5 are boring in their execution (not judging the story at all, only the way you complete them)... 6 and the rest are kind of good.
You just repeat the exact same stuff from 1 to 5: Read the book, go to island X, dig/fight mobs, repeat.
Sure, there are slight variations, but overall, if you don't play with RNG, in my first time doing all tall tales, I think I've gone around the map 8 or 9 times.
Tall tales are short, until you need to go to the opposite side of the map.
The duration of tall tales is mostly travel time, which is really bad in itself
And then once you've done that, why not do it 4 more times for each tall tale that you just did? What's even the point of doing each tall tale 5 times?
I get that a lot of commendations are repetition and all, but tall tales shouldn't be about 'farming' them. You don't do a tall tale for the reward (8k gold is ridiculous), you do it for the story or the skins you'll get for it.
I think the Gold Curse and the Curse of the Order should be available after the first completion. Doing each tall tale once should be enough to complete the tall tale at 100%, like Monkey Island.
