Guild updates

  • so, hopefully without sounding too negative, i was very disappointed with the implementation of guilds, especially after so many delays.

    when i think of a guild system in any game, i think of guild challenges that require alot of shared work between all the guild members.
    i was excited for guilds to be the big, long term progression system that finally encourages players to do a large variety of content.
    because lets be honest, for experienced players the game is basically just fort of the damned of diving mode.

    i was really hoping and expecting challenges like

    • as a guild defeat 10,000 skeletons
    • as a guild complete 500 world events
    • as a guild complete 200 treasuries
    • as a guild complete 100 tall tales

    just something like that you know?? obviously requirements would have to be finely balanced, and yea things like this do run into the problem of, guilds without many players unfortunately will have a hard time completing these things. but thats just the reality of a guild system. its a group. and i dont feel like devs should try to balance a group system, around players who dont have a group.

    i was really hoping for grindy guild challenges with guild rewards locked behind them to make them worthwhile and to encourage people to engage in all the content in the game.
    i was also hoping for other features such as guild chat (even if thats only in the menu and not in game).
    guild stats would be nice aswell. like, if you complete the challenge for killing 10,000 skeletons as a guild, well the counter still keeps increasing and you can see your guilds lifetime stats. this is all already tracked per player because of milestones.
    i also just think all content should be leveling up guilds. what if some players who just enjoy the story content want to make a guild? why dont tall tales give guild rep?
    and just finally. why doesnt skull of siren song give guild rep? i think there should be a small amount of rep for opening the chest, and a larger amount for selling the skull. just seems really weird to me that the season 10 content, does not progress the other season 10 content.

    guild systems are supposed to be a group thing. and shared effort to work towards worthwhile goals. but right now it just feels like something that you forget about, that levels up slowly in the background while we continue playing the game in the same way we always did. fort of the damned and diving mode are still the only things worthwhile for long time players since they level up the guild significantly faster than anything else

    You don’t seem to have heard. Nobody likes grinding stuff….as they say “takes to long” xD

  • For some guilds the work to get to the level where they can even run emissary is a gargantuan task in and of itself. Ask those folk what they think, they probably would say leave as is, without adding additional layers of completion beyond the current design.

  • The worst part about this idea is that I fully expect them to do it...and it'll be another slap in the face to the dedicated player base because they released another half-baked mechanic and all the grinding we've done since guilds launched will not be accounted for.
