New achievements too grindy

  • Year1 we had to do things like sell 1000 castaway chests. They later significantly reduced this. Then easier achievements rolled out like "Complete 1 fort of the damned" when the commendation was to complete 50.

Now it seems the achievements are matching the commendations. Get guild lvl 1000 then work on commendations to get achievements. Now its sell 50 Siren skulls (or whatever number grade 5 is going to be). Seems like they want to make sure those who might just focus on achievements and not worry about commendations because they were more tedious now have to do both.

  • The game needs a long grind objective. Let us have this.
Captaincy was supposed to be this but that got nerfed when people complained.

  • Please don't nerf the achievements... I like that it takes a while to get things.

  • is it 50? that's not bad

people just gotta stay outside of that "rush it, gotta get it done" mindset

"back in the day" most of us pve/pvpers organic style players would just stay consistent at it but would work on all kinds of stuff. The cheesing and the rushing it ruins a grind.

Some people took YEARS to finish their hunter's call even though they play all the time. It's awesome to take it slow and find a fish here or there, steal something here or there, makes the sessions better.

It's a good thing to have stuff to look forward to, even if it never gets done, it helps support random adventure experiences and thrill.

Doing stuff as opportunity arises or as it is appealing makes everything more fun and rewarding.

  • @phantaxus Captaincy was poorly designed, with this long-term thinking they made miles completely unrealistic, sleeping for an hour for a mile...
Trinkets that were supposed to be mainly for decoration were turned into trophies, which I have NEVER seen anyone care about.

@FormlessZulu515 Yes, I just don't understand some of Rare's decisions, currently this guild achievement is the last one left and I don't see getting it anytime soon, I don't think it's bad to have 1000 levels to get, but rather to have an achievement about it and not have any prize relevant at the end like in the hourglass(that guild ship is really ugly)

With the current level of progression, increasing one or two levels a day is very difficult, this means reaching the maximum level in one, two or almost three years with a guild that is not very active.
