1 more Guild Rank

  • Not all guild mates should be able to invite people to the guild.

Not all leaders should be able to kick or promote.

Leaders are like the recruiters of the guild.

There should be one more rank that can kick leaders and mates, basically a moderator.

Reserving the promote ability for the owner.

In theory all guild mates can invite, but then the guild potentially fills up with players that can be AFK all the time and the filter for active players is non existent. Which is why a guild leader exists, someone who is capable of discerning if someone should be in the guild. However, that person isn’t always someone who should have the ability the promote or kick.

Which is where the 4th rank comes in.

I don’t like calling myself the owner because we’re a team, and I wish I could bestow the owner status upon multiple people but I can’t split my pieces of 8

  • Or you could, you know, use the settings?

  • @foambreaker the settings are generalized to all members of a rank. If you actually read my post [mod edit] you would know that the issue is the inability to have another rank which can kick or promote players. While reserving the ability to recruit for guild leaders. Due to guild mates potentially recruiting their CoD friends who never touch this game.

  • Power balance my dude. People get WAY too dependable on the old goblet of power when in charge of guilds. Current setup is a deterrent, doesn't need more roles to muddy the seas.

  • @robby0316 "...If you actually read my post instead of taking out your IRL issues on a SoT forum..."

Oh must have hit a nerve 🤣

  • @foambreaker considering the post is dissecting the issue with the current rank assignment system. Telling me to use the rank assignment default settings is a little…illogical?

  • @robby0316 No body said to use the defaults, use the tool to customize.

  • To be fair you are able to adjust the permissions of each role to an extent so it can suit your specific needs. Worse case scenario, as an owner you can give someone a temporary promotion or the leader role a temporary additional permission than normal. If you own the guild, it's your responsibility to step up when/if you need to. Invite, promote, manage permissions or even create a guild mindfully. Do that and you should have no need for an additional role. Rare can't manage your guild for you.

  • @tesiccl my post states that I don’t want supreme power as the owner and that I want it delegated to others. I don’t think only the owner should have 3/3 permissions.

If a guild mate should have 0/3 permissions. (Due to the guild having only 24 spots and not being saturated with someone’s friend’s friend’s roblox friends.)

A guilder leader should have 1/3 permissions. (Recruiting)

There should be another rank with 2/3 permissions.(recruiting&kicking)

Or at least a way to have co owners who can also (recruit&kick&promote)

I wish the current leaders in my guild had more power. But not all the leaders/recruiters should be able to kick or promote.

Managing 24 people in different time zones, it would just be nice to have an equivalent of a moderator or shared ownership.

  • @foambreaker ……the current customizable options are restricting. There are only 2 ranks in reality, as owner isn’t really a rank with modifiable options. If a guild mate is someone who can be in the guild but shouldn’t be able to recruit, they have 0/3 permissions. If a guild leader is someone who has demonstrated enough common sense to gain the ability to recruit, they have 1/3 permissions. If a guild leader demonstrates leadership characteristics and good moral character they should be able to be promoted to a rank that can kick other players who are causing issues or not contributing. Sadly, I cannot change the permissions of a specific guild leader without giving that permission to all guild leaders….which is where having another rank comes in. Like I’ve restated 3 times now.

  • @robby0316 To be quite honest, it's down to both the Guild Master and the Guild Member to be mutually respectful of each other in the guild, if one is misbehaving, then the others are free to leave. Just because the GM has the power to kick etc, doesn't mean everyone will stay if they're going on a tirade and becoming a pain.

  • @b4njax you’re right, worst case scenario I can just lower the rank of some guild leaders and buff the current permissions of the guild leaders who show more promise.

  • @robby0316 Your post has been edited as it goes against the Forum Rules and Pirate Code.

    ALWAYS:

Be courteous. Don’t insult players you don’t know. If humour is the intent, remember that this can be lost or misinterpreted online, and words can very easily offend. Be mindful of what you’re saying and if someone asks a question, see if you can help them out as you’d appreciate being helped out yourself if the roles were reversed.

Name calling, personal attacks and using derogatory language against Community Members, Rare Employees, Global Moderators or Deckhands is not acceptable. Using such language will result in a warning, then temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action is persistent or increasingly aggressive, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Please read and abide by the Forum Rules and Pirate Code in future.

    Thank you.

  • @foambreaker idc what my rank is as long as it's not this guys guild 😅

  • @hiradc what’s your highest guild level? I wouldn’t want to be in my guild either, how dare I try to give more of my power to my guild members. What a tyrant I’m being :(

  • Couldn’t you just talk to the people in your guilds and ask them to not infinite random people? I have a very small guild and we’re all friends but if someone wants to invite another person they just ask before they do. Or ask before they make changes to it? I kinda get wanting another rank but I feel it’s not super needed if you communicate well.
