Guild Wars

  • Yes, I’m stealing from Clash of Clans here. Yes, other people have probably thought of this idea, but I just thought to bring it up here for further discussion.

We got Hourglass PvP, and that came with some awesome rewards. We got Guilds, which also seems cool. But combine the two, and you have guild wars. With this system, a guild could be pledged to either of the PvP factions from HG or just be a separate leveling system on its own, and both parties could earn some pretty decent rewards like gold and cosmetics, with the winner earning even more prestigious rewards. If this system were to be tied to the Servants and Guardians, some new rewards for those factions could be unlocked as well, like the long-awaited Burning Blade ship set and skeleton lord cosmetics.

With this system, the guild leaders could vote to start a war, and a guild for you to fight would be selected at random, and during scheduled times you could queue into battles against the enemy guild.

I know this is not an original idea, Clash did it first, but adding this system to Sea of Thieves would make the Guild system feel that much more alive.

  • @ratburgrr I would love that to be implemented!

  • I have a strong feeling that the Burning Blade cosmetics may be part of the Season 13 Plunder Pass. I'd definately love to see more additions to the guild system as it's unfortunately kinda lackluster currently.

  • Was just thinking about this, then it came to mind: someone probally already proposed it...

I would love to see something like that implemented, as I see, its too hard to have battles between two pairs of ships naturally. Usually, when theres an alliance, its fighting a single ship. A mode like guild wars could solve that and produce some battles in another level.

I think it should be separate from the pvo factions though. I would like to fight for my guild, period, not some lore faction
