I've been loving the Monkey Island expansions, and the theme song is a defining element of these games. It would be terrific to have the main theme offered as a playable shanty.

The song is already in several parts the game.
@monterey-mafia well, Robin Beanland (one of the composers for SoT) mentioned in a video recently that when we play a shanty, on whatever instrument, we are technically streaming the song from Rare’s servers, which means it’s not saved as a music file within the game.
Music copyright law is so fickle but as far as I know streaming licensed music from another owner would mean royalties would have to continuously go to said owner no matter how many times players played the shanty. Hence why most of the music we have is Rare’s own or music in the public domain.
Unless special agreements were put in place with Lucasfilm and/or Monkey Island’s composer (I don’t think the amount of effort would be worth it), something tells me Rare won’t want to be spending money where they shouldn’t need to.
It also may explain why the Davy Jones costume emote doesn’t play the actual lullaby, but a close as possible version without breaking copyright law.
