We all know 99.99% of players love to attack unattended ships. The amount of times I've spawned in, started collecting supplies from the tavern and before I can even make it to my ship its being blown up by someone is alarming. I've accepted the fact that anytime I see any ship it will stop everything its doing to hunt me down relentlessly, but I should at least be able to get to my ship to begin with. I don't know what spawn protection looks like in sea of thieves, but something that allows me to prep my ship and actually get to it and set sail without being completely blindsided within minutes of starting.
Spawn protection?
@the-cable-dood the game is designed so when you spawn in you should be far away enough from ships on the map to give you a chance to stock up the ship, raise a flag etc. Sounds like you’re on an older gen console with long loads, or you’re taking too long to stock up and get going. Remember too, the moment you spawn in, you are susceptible to attack.
@tesiccl I get what your saying and your right about how it's supposed to work. However I am playing on an Xbox series X and have really fast internet with fast load times. Last time I booted up, I was in the tavern for about 3 min maybe slightly longer. I'm playing it like I have for years. Either the "spawn in away from ships" feature is broken right now, or the devs should think about spawn protection.
If you're spending more than 5 minutes gathering supplies and not watching the horizon, your boat is going to get attacked not just for being there, but because it's likely in the way and a massive risk to allow another crew to be on the same island you're selling your loot on.
You can purchase a storage crate for 5000 gold and collect all of the supplies on the island in a timely fashion, or you can sail out with the default supplies on your boat, which are nothing to scoff at compared to several months ago when our default supplies were much smaller than before.
@nex-stargaze I get ya. It might be that I may have to just immediately set sail and collect supplies later. But i can't get 5 min? I love this game but dang I wish I could get 5 min to decide what I want to do while collecting supplies at the tavern lol
@the-cable-dood why did you spend 3 minutes in the tavern? That’s more than enough time to allow a ship that’s far away get to the outpost and sink you.
@the-cable-dood You also need to be aware of the time of day, during the bonus hours ships are all headed to outposts to sell loot.
One thing I noticed is that PVP hourglass spawns can be close to outposts, and don't seem to be affected by the normal "space" from fresh spawns. Have had several spawn in right in front of me at Dagger Tooth, near K9 island (and have also spawned in basically on top of people at Dagger Tooth as well). It's possible to get rolled up on in literally seconds.
@scheneighnay it literally doesn’t. If you spend too long on the outpost stocking up or not watching your horizon, the sink is on you.
@unleet1 remember though that the HG ships already have a fight going AND they can’t leave the bounds without sinking, so if you want to join in sinking them, by all means go for it xD
@the-cable-dood I've been attacked after spawning in once in the last few months. It's a rare occurrence. Why would protection be needed.
