  • No. It's the only player activated world event we've got. It's designed to be high-risk/high-reward. Don't like drawing attention? Don't do the FOTD... Or learn to get really fast at it...with the new balancing, it can be done in under 5 minutes if you know what you're doing.

What I would like to see is for them to enable a player activated FOTD-esque event over at Molten Sands. Breathe some life into the coolest fort in the game.

  • @superdededon That is the order of things in SOT, there are the gatherers (pve) and the hunters (pvp). Both want the same thing, to get the loot. The risk involved in such pursuit is rewarded by the treasure locked inside the fort. The FOTD beacon is there to announce that the fort is active to all parties involved and in the end there will be only one triumphant crew.

Most pvp players ignore loot, sad truth.

The difficulty rebalanced of fort of the danmed is good, but too many players try to steal loots or sink my ship because the cloud
which shape skull it announced fort is active. This is the same thing to show please steal from me. So my suggestion is change the cloud at least it appears when Ghost of Greymarrow is spawned.

Hmm its almost as they designed it to be that way due to its distinctive coloring and presence...

  • @sweetsandman I love your idea, we could have Ashen fotd like fort, loot would have that extra value, but the beacon for the world event would need to be a lot more visible to announce it

Someone had the wrong grog this morning...

After the bloodbath of Season 8's content, people hunting are not only getting better at killing players, but they're finding it more fun to steal loot... because of the new commendations for more items to earn. Content creators and Partners are literally swearing themselves to only steal the Chest of Fortune, almost under the parameters of what makes loot "stolen" in this game.

Season 9 brings in commendations for turning in Reaper's Chests again, so anyone willing to let themselves get sunk at the rebalanced FotD are basically at risk of losing loot that progresses towards fairly nice looking cosmetics, and a pretty nice amount of gold and doubloons.

The players that don't actually care about loot are diving, and maybe harassing boars in-between battles for supplies/third parties.

Sorry pirates are trying to steal from you.

That is the game. It is about players creating stories together. You might not like the story from your point of view but the other player has a great story about tucking on the FotD and stealing all the loot.

Tuck play is high risk, high reward and a fantastic rush when you pull it off.
