Do optimization for xbox one or turn off lock fps. The others pirates have a big advantage in pvp. Its hard to have a combat with ,,Elusive,, pirate, i mean that, you cant see him, bcs ur fps
Xbox one optimization
They already do optimize it for Xbox One users as best they can. Unfortunately, it's nearly a 10 year old machine from a specs standpoint. There's so much in the game now (and it's only going to grow) and lower spec hardware is only going to struggle more.
I think at some point we're going to get to where Xbox One players can only play SOT via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
@xwrong9080 Kinda hard to sympathize with "Don't want to upgrade".
Xbox One is a 10 year old console that has some ridiculous limitations, and Sea of Thieves was barely well optimized for it. The fact it still remotely has support 2 years after the Series X has launched, is a blessing to say the least.
@xwrong9080 said in Xbox one optimization:
@tesiccl i can't afford the new console. or i dont want
I can understand not being able to afford it but I can't understand not wanting one. It is newer, better, and faster.
As an example I actually have hit the point where my CPU is actively bottle necking my RTX 3080. I need a new one but I can't afford a new CPU and mobo combo.
@xwrong9080 turning off the fps lock will only cause the frames to be way more inconsistent which is a WAY worse experience.
The xbox one is 10 years old and the hardware in that machine is simply old and to be perfectly hones at the time of its release it wasn’t all that great in comparison to the pc hardware that was out there at the time.
Someone simply cannot expect a game developer to support or make extra changes to hardware that is so old, and i wouldn’t be surprised that at a certain point (maybe a year or so from now, maybe longer) that all support for this hardware will cease to exist especially since microsoft themselves is planning to stop the support for those machines in 2025
@xwrong9080 I know it sucks, but unfortunately the simple truth is that it's an old machine. It must be very difficult to optimise a game that plays on such a wide range of hardware.
You do have other choices of course.
With Gamepass you can play via Xcloud (the reliability and speed of your Internet will be a factor here).
You could upgrade your console. The Series S is a very capable machine which doesn't cost too much, and MS even offer a monthly payment scheme if you don't want to pay all upfront.
@xwrong9080 as far as I know, the fps for most games across all the xbox one machines is limited to 30. The Series consoles are capable of reaching 120fps, though I believe sea of thieves is locked to 60.
Hopefully someone smarter than me can clarify!
