Grogs poured...

  • This milestone is kind of a bit much isn't it? 0 plans on doing it but in the very least you could make us spawn with an empty tankard then we could fill it every time we login or die and slowly work on the milestone as opposed to having to not only fill but drink 3,000 tankards...

  • It's really designed for people that like to do different things, everyone has their things

In that way it kind of rewards everyone for their unique play style

My grog is very very low because I don't like it

and the things I do enjoy are very very high

in that way it tells the story how someone plays.

Of course the issue is that it was added to the game at the 4+ year mark but the design is still relevant

  • @wolfmanbush yea like a good handful of these milestones are stuff that was fun at launch but stuff I have long abandoned even thinking about. But even at different play styles some of these numbers are pretty extreme and that's after they nerfed them. I don't think there's that many people who login daily just to get wasted for hours on end lol. But someone did drain a chest of 1000 grogs so I guess there are a few out there though even at that I don't recall how long that took them and they had multiple people helping

  • @magus104

something like the grog is mainly just annoying to people that don't enjoy it

there isn't rng to it, as far as a grind goes it's a much easier one, it's just not fun for those that don't like it

which imo is a positive thing, whether someone likes to sit around and party like some do or go out hunting pve spawns like I do everyone has a way to tell the story through stats. It's not perfect, 4+ years in is going to create some oddness, but I think it still works how it is for those that decided to stick around/participate.

  • Portals are your friend... go into one and you don't get drunk. Much easier to pound em back lol. As someone who's ship's theme is 🥴 boozy pirate I think it's fine.

  • Meanwhile, some of the ship progerssion requires straight up sleeping.
Leaving the game in a black screen while you do nothing whatsoever.

  • @the-old-soul800

Sleep while you go to the bathroom or to grab a snack. It fills up fast at least.

  • Most of the milestones in this game are still ridiculous and a lot of people still defend them. The most ludicrous is still fishing where most people who defend the values don't even have legendary hunter of the sea of thieves yet and don't realize to finish these milestones is prob close to 1.5-2k hours of fishing...

    why is that ridiculous?

people that enjoy something are typically decent at it and efficient and things move along.

I've killed more krakens and megs in season 7 alone than many have in their entire piratical career. It would take some people years to kill 100 krakens or 100 megs of different types. I've sank a whole lot of skelly ships as well. That's my passion, others have different passions and their milestones show that.

Milestones reward casuals, people that grind, and people that are very passionate about different activities.

I and many others spent a long time checking shipwrecks for fish over the years for legendary hunter, I don't see an issue with it.

I'll never chase fotd trinkets because I've never been a fotd kind of guy
same for fishing, same for grog drinking.

They are meant for storytelling. To add individuality to an environment that needed it. If people board my sloop they are gonna learn quickly what kind of pirate I am and that's a success of the feature imo

Is that even possible? It makes sense that a chest of 1000 grogs would be limited but I have never heard of anyone draining that chest

  • You dont need to pour all the grogs to get your ship legendary in that class, much like how with the ill fated you dont need to sit in the storm for hours, you can scuttle your ship every chance you get.

A little question i do have now tho, does the tankard really need to be empty? or can it be just a refill from a sip?

  • @goldsmen

All the way empty. I checked. But you can drink a little here and there, you don't have to c
    Slam it.
