The bound between the Chest of Sorrow and The Wailing Barnacle

  • I'm gonna be straight forward here:

Why not to create a commendation in which when you do sell a bunch of chest of sorrows you be elegible to buy the missing wailing barnacle itens?

Im suggesting it because there's not payoff to sell those annoying chest and I really wanna put my hands on the ship and weapon skins from the wailling set. Also, they match on collors and theme, I mean the chest and the set.

Its also very frustrating when you can buy some of the itens but you can't complete the set. Its even worse when you realize the missing parts already exists but is locked on a timed limit zone that will not coming back.

Just like the silent barnacle is to the barnacle chests, you could put a milestone to get the Wailing set, a very difficult one. For instance: sell 300-400-500 chests of sorrow and then you gonna be able to buy either the full wiling set of the remaining parts that are at the moment off from the stores.

Its just a thought, but if you want to imagine me heading to the weapon or the ship store and not finding the Wailing Barnacle itens available to buy, I just look exactly like the Chest of Sorrow sobbing.

  • @seu-bloading How about no. You got the Recolor. Feelsbadman if you weren't around for the OG wailing barnacle but it should stay exclusive to those of us who were here and played and earned it.

  • @cptnpotbeard alright then take all the remaining itens off from the stores and thats it.

  • @seu-bloading That I would agree with. Why they are even available for purchase I find odd. Time limited cosmetics can be frustrating but the same side of the coin exists for the people who earned it at the time and then see it handed out to others who did not accomplish the same tasks. It's a tough thing to balance for sure. Rare's new model seems to be better. And even though adventures do have time limited cosmetics they are one offs and not pieces of a set.

At least for me, the silent barnacle set is not a recolor but a "no color" set. That set is ugly as hell.

  • @seu-bloading Hahah fair. Although it fades nicely into the fog for a spooky flying Dutchman look

  • @seu-bloading selling 100 gets you the greatest title in the game though!

Hoarder of Treasured Tears. We all know what tears its referring to!

  • I have never understood why so many pirates hold value to their cosmetics.

Take IRL money, for example - I have it, but I don't generally care about how much others have or how they got it, so long as I have enough for myself to make me and mine happy. With SoT cosmetics, it's basically the same. I wish more pirates had a similar outlook, but they are often jealous, envious, selfish, and arrogant - not a good combination. Their feelings control them. Scrooge McDuck would be proud... 🙄🦆💰

I think that might be coming from the real meaning of the word exclusive: to exclude the access to a specific group.

It suck but if its the rule, remove all the set parts that still available and let me just forget about it.

I'm sorry but I don't care about the titles, I dont even use one. 😔

Here's the caveat though - most cosmetics actually aren't exclusive; they're just time-limited. This means that they can potentially be re-released, because time-limited simply means not all of the time - not once and done forever.

  • @seu-bloading Sorry but those rewards are locked to time. The recolor is your best bet. If they do another maybe something will make you happy.

  • Laughs in both Banjo Kazooie figureheads.

Wish they'd put the original name and flavour text back lol

  • @seu-bloading

Wailing barnacle set is long gone.

BUT; if you wanted to link the number of chest of sorrows you've sold to unlocking a cosmetic, why not the Silverblade set? Specifically, the sunken, barnacle covered one we encounter during the 2nd pirate's life tall tale (not the clean version you get from insiders participation).

Lore wise, there's a much clearer link between that ship and that chest via the sirens.
