We've all gotten knocked off our boat and then take way too long to have the mermaid spawn back so that we can return to our already sunk ship. If there was a function to be able to whistle to have your mermaid instantly spawn to you even if it's on a massive cooldown would be really helpful especially to solo sloopers and in those times you need to get back to your ship, and would make up for the at times very unreliable mermaid spawns.

Helping pirates in need can still work if you call them for help, and it would be a great treatment to sneaky gameplay.Not sure why are you guys are latching on the word "own", these pixels wont get offended i promise, I can see how it would help gameplay like not having to swim very because it decided that it wants you too.

@faceyourdemon I'm mocking galatic geek's focus on "own" the mermaid literally only appears in the water because of your presence the game assigns you that particular mermaid therefore it is "yours". I would hope that my all caps absurd style of writing would make it clear that it is sarcasm but alas. "My" or "your" doesn't necessarily denote ownership but relation between two things, "My aunt Heidi" doesn't mean ownership but relation between me and Heidi.
