Knife Melee/Ranged Weapon

  • So the sword we all know and love is good, but there's a lack of usable knives in the Sea of Thieves (the Reapers even wear one on their uniform).

    My idea for a knife weapon is as follows:

    • Shorter range than a sword on both normal melee strikes and charge forward
    • Does 15 damage instead of 20 with normal swings to the front
    • Cannot block, but instead be aimed and thrown
    • Charge attacks, throws, and melee swings to the back of an opponent does 75-80 damage
    • When thrown, must be walked over to and picked up with the interact button (when it hits a player it drops to the ground where the hit made contact).
    • *The knife could be given the ability to block if the charge attack was swapped for the throwing action.

    I feel like this would be useful for if you run out of bullets and just need one more hit to kill.

  • Similar idea to what I had, however I think yours is easier to implement but more powerful as well.

    Dagger. Another weapon, but this would differ from the sword because it would only do 15 damage per swing and can't block. What makes it useful is it would be an assassin's tool. It can 1 shot someone from behind but only if the opponent is not holding a weapon and a prompt will appear which takes as long to complete as a normal pick up would. This would make it weak in actual combat but could be used for stealth kills without a blunderbuss.
