I know its a topic that have been discussed so many times if you should be made to switch server after sinking, and there are people in and against that, but come on, I think we can agree that after certain numbers of being sanked it should hop you.
Im just tired of being chased by the same galleon for 2 hours after sinking them like 8 times in the process just to finally sink myself because I cant even restock cuz I wont get fast enough to outpost before they come again and again. Who cares If I get to steal their vault key If I cant use it at all because enemy wont give up even after sinking close to 10 times? Whats the point in fighting enemy like that? Just make them hop for x sake, fighting enemy like that gives you nothing and only wastes your time. Make some limit to that, if not instant because of "last stand" then introduce it at some number like 2-3 times.
Make crews server hop after sinking too many times in a row.
Since they aren't going to get rid of restocked respawns they should get serious about spawning people apart
the new and improved algorithm to spawn people farther apart has failed.
People focus on the annoying low skilled people but who this really hurts the most are decent adventure crews that take out crews (on average) much more skilled than them. Current system is a safety net for skilled crews that took a loss that they typically wouldn't take.
People should be able to come back as many times as they want but it shouldn't be close when the loss is pvp related.
They should honestly limit the respawns to 4-6 spots. Sailor's Bounty, Old Salts Atoll, Devil's Ridge, Marauder's Arch for the main area. Fetcher's and Ashen Reaches for the Roar.
When you sink, the game tries to spawn you in the furthest most spawn island from where you sank depending on regular area or roar and whether or not another ship is at that island. The idea being the game has 3-4 islands to choose from and the likelihood of another ship being at all of them is unlikely.
@tsarpetrus It's extremely rare that people will come back more than twice, and most of the people who do will quit after the third attempt. It's not that big of a problem. Not only would this be extremely hard to implement, but it's just not necessary.

If by extremely rare you mean a daily occurrence for a lot of people involved events or other high value activities or just people that run into a Johnny Ringo that lives to die getting revenge
@wolfmanbush Did they mention a “new and improved” spawn algorithm??? I agree with you 100% that (if it’s been changed) it’s pretty terrible. Other crews seem to spawn 2-3 islands away after sinking.
@wolfmanbush No. This is yet another case of people massively overstating their experiences to gain sympathy and support.

People spawning close with fresh supplies and nothing to lose and everything to gain while having big egos during the heat of the moment is going to naturally create many instances of people returning repeatedly

no this is certainly not the case
i've had thousands of moments when i've been in active combat with a ship after i stole their fort
if the loot is high they aren't going to abandon it and they will keep coming until you sell it all
and if you are extremely unlucky they'll come after you even when you've sold it all because they're salty
people should not respawn with supplies and they should respawn on the other end of the map with nothing but a banana to their name in case of pvp sinks thats how it should be
i can't even begin to count how many times i've sunk because i've ran out of ammo food and planks because they never STOP coming
sorry but this is a very very common everyday occurence
i mean they sink lose their loot they respawn with supplies and literally nothing to lose from sinking once twice thrice four times five times six times
theres no punishment for sinking after the first time sunk

Chased for 2 hours because you. Said you have the vault key. Surprising no other ship appeared...you know. Another galleon?
This would be bad for new players who are being hunted and sunk by other players, to be suddenly server hop to a new place without reason. Because they lost?
Why would it be bad?
Why would a set of new players be chased and sunk repeatedly by the same crew over and over again?

Its not rare, its case of everytime you sink any other crew at any world event and sometimes even on regular sailing. I shouldnt have to worry about crew I already defeated when Im collecting my loot I earned by winning, I should care and be warned about any other ships that may come but not very same guys I already defeated once, since they coming back is not fair since they have nothing to lose at this point. Whats the point in that? You lost once you will probably lose twice etc. Rare are fights when its close who won, most of the times one crew is way more skilled than the other and will win in most situations, giving losers infinite chances are just not fair towards good players, since it becomes just who has more free time and nerves, and I dont want to be forced to chose between giving up my whole evening to bad players who cant give up or leaving server therefore resigning from all the loot I earned.

Yes I earned they vault key by defeating them in fair 4v4 fight. My crew already earned the loot from them and proved superiority in that certain situation. They lost, they lose loot, thats the point of the game. Im fine with maybe giving one extra chance if thats how it has to be, but giving losers possibility of endless respawns when they have nothing to lose and just drain you from resources for 2 hours straight when you finally will have nothing to shoot or repair your ship with is just unhealthy for the game. Draining crew is valid tactic, but shouldnt be allowed in a way that you constantly sink and after coming as 10th freshly spawned ship you finally win because enemy have nothing to fight with. Literally pointless if this is what we are aiming to achieve with pvp at this game.
No reason not to hop crew that lost to make space for some fresh crew that
1.isnt tilted and tired
2.wont fear fighting that one ship that sank them/wont give up even after 20 sinks(its always one of these, never in between)
Everyone in hop scenario gets better experience, hopped crew that wont get to fight same enemies, crew that won that doesnt have to think about fighting same enemies whole day that they already proven superiority to, and new crew that joins in place of hopped one doesnt have any prejudice to any of the crews already on server so it brings fresh experience to everyone@jollyolsteamed this 100%
Certain people wont give up no matter what and game just gives them a platform to do this. In todays scenario as an example, my crew menaged to cash out all their loot at reapers between one of their longer comebacks, kept just the key, its the only stake they are fighting for but they wont stop coming anyway, after sinking them once again not only they keep coming but get so close spawns that we have less than 3 minutes of freedom from them before they come back and back again, no way for us to even get to the outpost and buy cannonballs, hence loot any island for resources, its just unfair and it happens hella often, and even if it was situation once in a 50h playtime, it would be still bad enough, because one unfair session like that makes you dodge this great game for next week or two@oddpoem71481766 said in Make crews server hop after sinking too many times in a row.:

I strongly disagree with this statement, we have also experienced a number of ships that returned almost into double digits. It wasn't difficult to dispatch them, but some crews that were more of a chalange ended up sinking us but the ratio was like 6:1 I think it needs to be addressed, spawn further, or just shift them along. Its fun sinking ships but not when it's the same crew, same ship, same tactic same outcome, over and over.
The only variables were when some left and the crew was switched to open and a flood of new blood ( experienced) came into play.

Just spawn camp in these cases, only way to make people wanna leave sometimes. Happened while we were doing FOTD and we killed this brig multiple times and they just wouldn't stop coming. Even after spawn camping.
But spawn camping does deter a lot of players who keep coming back to no end.
@capt-soul-beard I dont think forcing players to spawn camp each other till they leave should be solution to problem like the one we are discussing here, sure use it for now, but doesnt change the fact it should be fixed.
Im mostly one of the Players who get sunk because im more of a Hunter, not a great Warrior but i found a Server Hop after a Second defeat by the Same Crew a good Idea aswell! Im a big Fan of the Hunters Call and love to just hunt, fish and relax but it is sometimes just impossible to catch a certain fish because of a Reaper Ship that is roaming the area! After the fourth defeat by it just because you want to catch that fish that lives in that area, a rage quit isn't far away anymore! An Automatic Server Hop would give you a Chance of a "friendlier" Environment with less Reaper ships or one that hunts in a different region! Also it would be a nice challange If you know that you have only one Chance of getting your stuff Back and thinking about your strategy, how you want to do this would add a nice realistic pirate feeling into the Game in my opinion! I would absolutely like to see this happen!

Forced migration is too powerful, so I use what I can atm.
That's unfortunate.
Most of the crews quit after sinking the third time. And a way to prevent this will be respawning further every time you sink due to PVP.
This used to work, but it's fun when Rare says in the patch notes "this is been fixed", it just gets worse. Every single time. To begin with, I don't understand how certains things just get broken over time like mermaid spawning, ship respawnig or the comeback of the backspawn in the water (again a thing).
