with this new pass I think you should add the ability to fully personalise your ship with colours and custom logos in the way some of the car racing games do but make things like figure heads still a purchase with gold. To also have the ability to hide your loot in the sand and have an X on your map where you hid it, but should you loose your ship other players can take your map and find your loot.

@quixoticrocket I do see your point. Even if there was no option for custom logos and left to just custom colours (ie: hand rails, fabric roof on sloop, ship hull ect). Personaly I'm not to keen on the pre selected choices. I've bought every customisation option and I find myself never happy with any of them. Then to go sailing and fight against a ship that just looks Identical to mine. There is just to little choice in the pre selected for a game that has been out for so many years and now I have nothing left to spend my gold on.

yeah. it'd be nice if they could either break down the ship a little more for different combinations (like hull / railings / canopy) or let you choose from an array of options to get a unique look.the only thing i can think of is that fiddling with colour sliders / selections doesn't really fit the ui well. everything is selected from a chest. maybe more of a breakdown would just result in too many items and a cluttered selection.
doesn't mean they can't do it though. just need to figure out how to make it work.
God I would only imagine. I remember the custom emblems from CoD and how racist a lot of them were (outside of other things). I think there is enough toxicity in the game via game chat / voice chat (no I don't feel they should be removed). However, I think custom 'paint jobs' on the boats would be a terrible result. The idea is solid, in theory is sounds great and I would love it, but what you'd get on the side of ships would be terrible.
Also, considering, there are a good amount of people who stream and with some boats undoubtedly going to end up being racist or inappropriate billboards for ignorant folks, it wouldn't be a good move.
Not faulting the idea, just feel the end result isn't as beneficial as you'd think it would be.
