Hey! First time posting, but while playing SoT, my friends and I came up with some good suggestions of things we would like to see added to the game (if this is not the correct place for this thread please move it).
Here are the 3 that were the most important to me:
- A Rudder Lock - Okay, I can see some of the comments now: yes, I know one of the main appeals of this game is the sailing (it is my favorite part to the point where I stay on the ship when my crewmates go ashore), but since they reduced the map size you let go of the wheel at your own peril. It'd just be nice to have all hands on deck for some things, instead of getting stuck on the wheel. Rare can easily nerfed it by making it not work in storms, and making it breakable. Just something I have been wanting to see in the game.
- Visible nameplates for the ships - Don't know about my fellow pirates out there, but the first thing I did when I started the game was name my ship(s); for my Sloop: Seraphim's Flight, my Brigantine: Paradiso, and my Galleon is the Deliverence Unto God (I was very much into Kingdom Come: Deliverence when this game came out), I would love to ACTUALLY be able to name it though, with a plaque on the back of the ship, or the name scrawled across the side close to the bow something like that (or, you know, just have it float over the ship but that would be less fun, lol)
- The ability to enter Alliances prior to entering the game - mostly I have more than 3 friends that like this game, but we very rarely get put in the same lobby when we play together, it's be nice to party up with someone prior to entering the game. Could limit it to two ships prior to entering the game or something, so people can't take up the whole lobby.
So, what do you think? I think the easiest to implement would be the named ship idea, but those are the things that my friends and I spitballed when we were playing the game.
