For some reason loading times seem to be a lot slower for Xbox players. For example when we die we spend longer loading onto and back off the ferry of the damned. This is very annoying in cases where you are in a battle or in my case, doing the new tall tale, having the key and losing it because it took me 15 mins to load on and off the ferry of the damned by which time my ship had long been sank. This needs to be fixed.
Xbox loading times
Don't hold out for much hope, its progressively gotten worse after ever single update since the game launched.
@benedge16 this is due to one simple fact, the xbox one (even the one x) is held back by one major while most recent pc’s are equiped with an ssd of sorts the xbox is still only equiped by a mechanical hard drive and specs wise a very slow one at that.
I have an xbox one and even an external usb3 mechanical hard drive is faster then the internal one.
This hinders fast loading in of assets and especially ships are very intensive on that part due to al the physics going on there, then not to mention all the islands etc

It's not "Xbox loading times" it's "Non-SSD loading times", get an SSD for your Xbox, and you'll have near-instant loading times, like everyone, Xbox and PC alike, who have SSD. :P
obviously, they should optimize loading times more, but still.

There's gotta be some sort of loading hierarchy they could set up to improve load times.

There's more to it than just the SSD, I've got my toaster kitted with one and load times were cut in half but every update it's gotten worse and worse to the point where an SSD is almost as slow as my HDD used to be.
For science I tested without my SSD and it was actually horrible you would literally hear the ferry door open 10s before able to move just to be stuck in another loading screen again.
I think once x series comes out they'll ditch the xtoaster one and possibly the S version simply for lack of performance.
@icymethodman Lol, you're really having a go at Xbox One, aren't you? xD
Xtoaster, rofl. :D
And no, load times haven't gotten worse with each update, only someone who hasn't been around since launch would think that. : /
@sweltering-nick I play nearly everyday and yes it's gotten worse and by alot. Not sure if your Xbox or not but I am and I can tell it's slower.
Am I wrong in calling it a toaster? xD

Ah yes, you understand that the more games, programs, and apps you have installed on the Xbox, the slower it works, right? Perhaps you need to purge some memory to get back some loading speed? ;)

Well, i have a 5500 USD pc, the Xbox is indeed a toaster by comparison, but i have a habit of judging consoles on their own merit instead of comparing them to superior but more expensive alternatives.
So i don't think it's fair to call it a toaster, no... But that doesn't mean i don't find it hilarious. :P
I prefer to call my Xbox One X a "blu ray player"... because that's literally what i use it for, and the entire reason i bought it (Due to an advertisement mistake by the store clerk, i got it for cheaper than any 4k blu ray player they had to offer, so yay me, getting a 4k blu ray player for around 30% discount compared to other 4k blu ray players). xD

Thing is that I only play SoT on my xbox so there's that🤷

Perhaps your SSD is deteriorating, i mean, it's speed-loading capabilities are limited to a specific number of read/write terrabytes (There's an official term for it, but it eludes me right now)... In other words, when you've used up the SSD's SSD function, the SSD becomes a normal harddrive, and so load times get slower accordingly.
How old is your SSD?
@benedge16 Seen it suggested that this could be down to ssd drives personally have no real issue with this I don't know how diffrent spawning times are but it pretty much feels different to me everytime I respawn on Xbox not that I have timed it to me it feels that way

Actually they got worse...I have a SSD since end of 2018, it was a blast how short the black screens are with it...but, especially since this update, it got really bad when using a mermaid (about 4-5 seconds longer) or when a ship is near by, no matter if player or skellie ship
@schwammlgott I disagree, the loading screens increased slightly for me when they reworked the mermaids, and NOTHING changed in -this- update for me... I think the increase happened for you as well during the mermaid rework, you just didn't really notice it until this update... The loading screens are already varied in length, another 1-2 seconds added across the board isn't easy to detect instantly. :P
