Controller Support for non-Xbox USB controllers?

I have a wired HORIPAD controller for the Nintendo Switch that I'd like to use with this game. Works just fine with every other game I play, how do I get this working in SoT? Tried setting the game up to run through Steam since it supports the controller without any extra hoops to jump through, but only the A button seems to do anything, all other inputs are not responsive.
