State of 2026 SOT- from a day 1 returning player

    First off Love the game, Loved it since release date march 2018/ Off and on. Left the country for a few months this winter I come back and 8 YEARS worth of doubloons wiped out. Why would one ever predict this when he's away.. I wasn't reading your patch notes. I got like 115k gold which is disrespectfully low.... That's like an hour of Solo slooping... I forget the amount but I feel like it was 600-800 doubloons. You guys continue to make it REALLY hard to play this game consistently. Add on the fact that I had to buy x box game pass to play a game I purchased for FULL PRICE AROUND RELEASE DATE- Add the new plunder system (which you won't admit is for profit, I get it, all the companies making coin why not you guys, not an issue just wish you'd come clean over the fake excuse that its "good for the players".. lol) Played for over 8 years and what do I get,.. A lifetime of progress wiped (I was saving for a lvl 50 Athena doubloon splurge, for the last 4-5 years at least (since Pirate Legend and pre easier Rep) +Plus+ A forced to buy a subscription on top of my X box live for a game I fully own +Plus+ more on ancient coins over the years...) - I know you won't give me the doubloons back so I won't ask but DAMN guys I know you want more players and game pass gives you a bunch of people who quit within a week (good for playercount optics I get it) But don't forget about the OGs whove spent 1/3 of their lives playing this game (until you push them away again for lack of quality in game updates, would it kill ya change/switch an older island or two ). Your killing me fellas. your killing me. Or give me some new PVE quests. The selection or quality gold hoarder chest only voyages is pitiful. Not everybody wants to PVP (A homie misses his captain chest only quests from back in the day) -Seamasters...... - Ugly and unsatisfying.- Cruddy skull quests. Merchant = no excitement. Athena is the only thing keeping me afloat here. I Hope Microsoft realizes your potential and not just your shortfalls I know Rare is fighting for their survival. Good luck friends I believe in you

    May we ask why you had to buy a pass for a game you already purchased?

    May we ask why you had to buy a pass for a game you already purchased?

    Quite simply because, on console, to play High Seas, you need an Xbox Live subscription in addition to purchasing the game.

    @burnbacon - Had plenty to spend them on, I pretty much only saved and never spent. - And yes even tho I paid full price (60 I believe) 8 years ago and have basic X box live party chat and such. You need to have game pass to play high seas....

    this is exactly what i predicted would happen and their dum choice to wipe doubloons for the sake of making it harder for people to obtain cosmetics again. their excuse was those of us who had doubloons from early on didnt earn them. they wanted to recreate the conditions when we had to farm the doubloons to "earn" the cosmetics when the fomo first came around. to this way the older players dont have an advantage over newer players when the cosmetics are added back in.... the reality of the situation.... the game is dying and by forcing people to play more hours to regain something they already farmed for is insulting and pathetic. its an attempt to pad their numbers "look how many more hours people are playing, and how many people are active on doubloon weekends!!" yea because we HAVE to be... not because we WANT to... "its a pirate game" yup... darn right it is. rare pirated our doubloons. the pirated the ancient coins from the season pass. no more free paid currency.. to be fair i expected an ancient coin wipe, ancient skeleton removal. instead all they did was remove ancient coins from the free reward track because they realized that was a bigger mistake than even ignoring doubloons for 8 years

    in terms of changing islands if you really were gone for that long i dunno how many of the changes you missed cause they did actually change a lot. though maybe not in ways you care about. traps, vaults, zip lines, sadly the only way to get doubloons is on a doubloon weekend but just get 2 pcs and cheese the heck out of it but its still just a dum waste of time sailing back and forth between 2 islands yawnnn

    You know, by commenting, "I'm a day 1 player," you give the impression that you're devoted player and follower of the game. Then you back up that statement by saying how much you love the game. Earlier this month you JUST purchased and set sail on a Captained ship, so, welcome to Season 7 (which launched Aug. 2022). Now you're expressing outrage at something that was announced, done, and is now over with more than 2 months ago.

    There were quite a few Insider posts about it, where dedicated players posted their opinions about what was coming back before April. We've already had our second Bilge Rat Weekender by the way. That's when and where you earn the vast majority of doubloons now. Also, LSS is reported to be coming back for a week each month. Over night, you've caught up from season 7 to 20. Dedicated players who had tens of thousands of doubloons (personally, I had over 50k), with nothing to buy. It was a pointless number in the corner of your screen, and they're on the map again. So, you're outraged for the sake of being outraged here. Welcome to season 20.

    @europa4033 Not really that outraged just kind of like a why (If anything make it an option- Exchange doubloons for gold IF you want too so its not forced) not everyone had tens of thousands...- I just hop on sail around and enjoy the quiet time digging up chests.

    And I am a Solo player mainly who has had a captained Sloop for many many years so relax buddy-, Got some friends to play recently so I bought a Gally. (also in a guild so I didn't need it but had the coins) "Day one player" doesn't mean every day player just highlighting that Ive seen it all over the years, hence me saying lots about coming back and being driven away due to bad/lack of updates.

    Just sad to see a game that was once legendary being evolved the wrong direction. These are also my OPINIONS -Im not asking for yours lol.-- Bilge rats wise, Forcing people to play specific days for normal in game currency isn't great for the everyday employed person with a life. I travel a lot as I said and can't just be here when the special weekends arise. Just sad to see. Game is dying already as we all know and personally they're making the wrong decisions.     Again players use the word "Forced/Forcing" when you are not in any way.
