I left right around the beginning of the Pirate's Life update due to life events. Fired her up today and was quite impressed with all of the new stuff.
Good job, Rare. How well this game has come along since launch day is admirable.

content wise it's long been doing very well. Pretty much ever since emissaries came out people have had plenty to do and it's all good stuff. Irks me when people complain about a lack of content given how much as been brought to the game.
performance wise we be strugglin' right now. Hopefully that all works itself out
seasons have been great imo. Some of these cosmetics the last 6 months or so for the emissary rewards and season stuff have been really nice. Impressed on the regular with it.
they have been bringing a lot of light and bright and pretty stuff into the game which I have been yapping about for a long time. Really cool to see some more variety.
Hope we see some more performance consistency but the content itself has been lovely. Appreciate all the work that goes into it. Incredible that it's free and for everyone.
its not better :( its worst. There is now in the game Bucket reg and food reg, also the servers are just not working, today as a EU player i join a NA server on closed crew, also in arena the games just dont start it takes an extra 20 min in order to merge in arena, as to the content that they are adding its really not that good.
Oh , don't i still remember the release of this Game back in 2018...Murder and Fire were shouted from all Pirates who didn't knew the meaning , or didn't believe in the concept of " Game as a Service" stated by Rare , Pirates even left because there was " no content " , even today Pirates of Old who left our waters come back and stand there totally bemused as they don't know where to look or sail first ...
Yes this game has grown alot and , thanks to the constantly Rare updates and Seasons the game keeps growing ... Even Mr Spencer , a few months ago , scratched his hair on his head and said to Mr Duncan: " Mr Duncan , you game is getting too big " . My poor Xboxes can't run this anymore and the New Xbox Monsters only dripfeed from my factory , you need to halt somewhere" ... A smile and a glint on one of Mr Duncans tooth appeared when he said " Don't worry ,old boy, Rare got this " , we squeeze the Xboxes and PC's to their limits and beyond because " Who doesn't want to be a Pirate , hey?" ....
And with that comment , Mr Spencer pushed out a big sigh , wiped his forehead and promised Mr Duncan to keep the Servers running because he fears that Old ,limping , Pirate that is capable of Uniting All Pirates to amass a fleet to coerce him to never cease those servers ...
Yep, being an old , limping ( * And very , very ugly ) Pirate does have it's advantages ...

I think the focus and glorification of pirate legend not only has lead to piratical complacency and stagnation but has also created unrealistic expectations for something that ultimately only takes a few weeks of picking up loot and selling it.
The thousands of hours people put into this game really has nothing to do with pirate legend. If people feel good about it that's great but then it's time to move on. The interaction and the "whatever happens happens" mentality creates not only longevity but keeps sessions fresh in a way no content ever can.
No matter what they gave pirate legends it would get dull quick and people will always want more. Pirate Legend is nothing more than a prologue of the captain's log but it's treated like it's something more.

since this is an appreciation thread I'd like to throw down some appreciation for this new alert on the game screen. Nice coloring nice placement and helpful
It would be cool to have something similar to this for alerts on things like double gold weekends and daily gold rush when it's active.

Came here to say the same thing. Kudos where it's due - well done, Rare.
I like the implementation of this banner a lot. It looks good, the aesthetic looks clean, and it's eye catching. And, as you say, WolfManbush, it could be used to alert players to a lot of things going on. I would add Twitch Drops to that list.

2- They’re adding new content. New content comes with bug fixes and bug introductions. Every game is like that.

4- Where did you get that data from? Just played for a couple hours today and didn’t get sunk once so.
5- Seems like you’re just fed up with the game and need a break. They add stuff for all players and you don’t need to pay for anything once you get the game. In fact, I’ve never bought any plunder pass.I’m not sure what’s up with the disillusioned Pirates who believe that Rare’s out to ruin their game and don’t care about their players. Like you’d have to actively ignore most of the stuff that Rare does for their community for that line of thinking.

Now Athena voyages are the least valuable in the game, the chest of legends is out valued by the reaper bounty and box of secrets, and there will be no custom ship types for legends (pretty much a guarantee at this point)
