  • No. The trials are meant to be optional and since some of the deeds are rather annoying to complete, I would rather not attach rewards to completion.

It is even worse if you consider that it is highly likely that a lot of these trials will reappear in season 2.

this would be taking something they finally did right and making it terribly unfun

We've had that before and it's awful.

Pushing people into alliance interactions and curse ball nonsense just takes something awesome and throws the puke bucket all over it

Giving us optional boosts without attaching titles to stuff most people don't enjoy doing was the perfect change we needed for events

  • Sorry, but the Trials are super unoriginal and frankly I have done some of them already multiple times because they were required for a reward of some sort. The optional status of their completion is the only reason why they are fine being just another iteration of: do this once again!

  • But why?
I think you only asking for this because your one of the 1% who dont half+ of the trials without reason. (because you can)

  • @voreo-sabrae look at commendations and look at the shops with items with locks on it. there is your system.

  • @voreo-sabrae

That type of rewarding system is predatory. It takes advantage of a phenonemon in human nature. I don't know the word for it, but basically lets say a person decided to not buy something because they would never need it. Put a sticker on it that says the item is on sale and that its limited time and that they will never get it again, people will buy it.

Its like how games make daily's or weekly's to fake player numbers. You've probably done it too right?? Played a game where you got on SOLELY to do the daily. You didn't NEED to do it at all but it was a daily, if you don't do it you missed out.

Plus, another reason why I hate that stuff is because it dictates how the player plays the game. It forces your hand.

Lets there was a commendation to do 100 Athena quests. You did it and got the cosmetic. You were bored out of your mind doing it 100 times. An event comes out and it says you have to do it another 50 times to get something you want.

What you think is going to happen? You are going to do the Athena even though you hate doing it.

The daily, weekly, time limited anything. Those are dumb game mechanics and shows how bad a game really is at its core. However, players are the problem also because they asked for this stuff and the reason is because they want that addiction filled. That feeling of "progress" or "success".

I want to be able to just JOIN and do what I want. If a game allows a player to play HOWEVER they want and still be able to progress towards loot, cosmetics, or whatever without dictating a direction, that is a very fun game.
