Constellations with Treasure beneath

  • Since stars have been used in navigation for so many years, I think it would be fitting to have constellations with treasure underneath. Additionally, the night sky being so beautiful, I want more excuses to look at it.

Similar to the ship/skull clouds, there would be a constellation; leo, cancer, Mr. Pants, etc. floating over a random island. Underneath would be a treasure for that constellation: A treasure chest marked with the constellation on the lid, a skeleton glowing with the constellation on its forehead whom you can battle, or a mystical crate adorned with the constellation.

Alternatively, there could maps that tie in with the night sky, where, instead of saying to visit a particular island, it simply shows the constellation to go towards and under.

  • @nefnoj I love the idea! I hope this gets traction! :D

  • Navigating to stars may still work for those who know stars, because here we are talking about rough cardinal points. But finding treasures for stars is very special. The distances to the stars are too big, the deviations at the smallest deviation of the viewing angle are too enormous. Maybe, when we send Πυθαγόρας (Pythagóras) into the prison, he stops, but for the time being he still sticks to his rules.

In concrete terms, this means that you can walk from one coast to the other on a sufficiently large island without noticing the slight changes in the star image, right?. You may walk 20 miles, the star image changes by 0.000000000..............0001° degrees.

I very much like the idea of being able to use the night sky in some way. The North Star was included in a riddle or clue, I believe, in one of the past events.

It's definitely something that has come up a time or three as a suggestion :)
