Loot despawn times in water.

  • Had a run for the Skeleton ships where we were in an alliance across almsot the whole server but no one was up for the event so we attempted to solo it on a 3 man brig.

Long story short we were running out of time and we were on the 4th or 5th wave when in a stroke of bad luck we were stuck between two ships and we all were killed. Our ship sank with the fair amount of loot we'd collected up to that point. My crewmates had to bounce because it was late but the timing was good that the ships would despawn soon and we were as close of a spawn point we could have hoped for. I sailed down a map square and as i came in cannon range of the circling ships they dived back to the deeps. Perfect, since I was alone on the brig and would have the time now to stop and grab our lost loot. None to be found. I cannoned in all directions and scours the horizon but no glint of the 2 captain's chests, silk, 4 hateful and 2 villies we had aboard. The green glow of the skulls alone should have been visible but the loot was all gone. No other ships around as we spawned within site of the Skelly ships. The patch in week 2 of cursed sails raised the time loot would float for this reason but I don't get it. Why does loot stay in the game for hours on land but sink in water ridiculously fast.

It's hard enough to track loot to pick up after a ship sinks because it takes so long to float up after the hull disappears. The narrow window to actually get the loot aboard is silly. To then add the super fast sink/despawn timer why bother even try to go back? There are birds flying above plenty barrels after ships go down so why not a marker (floating planks, debris) marking a ships sinking spot. and treasure should really spawn from the hull as soon as the ship sinks and is not interactive anymore. It would streamline the process soo much.

I too, would like to see loot respawn times last a bit longer in the water.
