Drunk Deckhands

  • Grog rations for deckhands at outposts should be drastically reduced. It seems when I spawn at certain outposts, my ship is moored too far from the dock. In some cases, it's nearly impossible to jump to and from the ship without landing in the drink. This is disgracefully negligent! How is the crew to properly stock the ship with grog if the deckhands have already drank it all? And more importantly, how is the captain to board her ship without getting her boots wet?

Seriously. Can't they get the ship a little closer to the dock?

  • I think it has a little to do with ships spawning with holes in them. I'm with you, though. I hate having to swim. Lol

  • I'd like to see retractable gang-planks for all ship models. It would be extra awesome if they could be attached to snap-points on the dock, provided the ship's plank point was within a certain tolerable distance to the dock. The plank would be drawn when extended to best align the ship-side plank point to the dockside snap point. This would also allow for the difference in height often found between deck and dock as the plank could be drawn at a slope, once again within a certain range of tolerance.

  • @genuine-heather I wait at the dock, until a member of my crew brings the ship to me. As is the proper way.

    I like your thinking.

  • Haha, I hate it when this happens! :D
Although, running jumps onto the ladder are always fun and are a good warm-up for adventures to come.

I love a good running ladder jump. It makes you feel like a hearty, swashbuckling pirate. Arr! But those dismal failures when you're trying to jump onto the dock and only crash into the drink quickly drain away all that pirate swagger. Argh!

Aye!! The way back is not so great if there's no ladder on the dock, or a taller launching height from the boat, to make the difference.

Indeed, your call for reducing the deckhands' grog rations is the most reasonable option.
Sadly, these seas, and its inhabitants, hold very little adherence to reason. XD

Mayhaps you can have the deckhands come about and form a human bridge for you to cross.
