Skeletons should have a chance to drop items on death.

  • I've been thinking about this for awhile now, and think that having skeletons drop certain items on death would add a little depth to the game. We all know skeletons are capable of carrying and using items! Skeletons can cronch on bananas, load and fire weapons and cannons, wield swords, and carry explosive barrels. Why should they not have a chance to drop something when we turn them into dust?

While there is never really a shortage of supplies on any island, often times I find myself out of bananas or ammo, and running away from combat to try and reload and resupply. What if, when you're out of ammo, have no bananas, and are almost dead you knew you could take a chance, kill a skeleton, and have it drop you a banana or ammo. Different skeletons of course could drop different items.

Normal skellies: Small chance to drop banana or supplies (Plank, cannon ball, ammo)
Plant skellies: Higher chance to drop banana, small chance to drop supplies
Shadow skellies: Same as normal skellies
Gold skellies: chance to drop gold or treasure item

  • Have you ever seen a canonball laying down somewhere? I did not so skellys would be mostly able to drop bananas and planks. But its planty of it on the islands u can meet skellys so idk anyway.

  • Personally,I want one of those blue bandanas!😀

  • @damatheus

Hmm, I could see it happen when killing a Skeleton while it's cronching a banana. Kill it while it's happening and p**f! A banana appears on the ground.

  • @szawel123 Normally, no. But with the introduction of cursed cannonballs, I think they will introduce single cannonballs in the world. I doubt they are going to give players 12 cursed balls at the same time.

  • White skellies should have a 5% chance to drop Reg skulls, Plant Skellies drop Disgraced, Shadows drop Hateful and Golds drop Villianous.

  • @the-portalstorm would have to be like 1% I think 5 would just be way too high.

  • Yeah, they should totally have a chance to just drop a random item. No specific skellies drop specific things, just you kill one and maybe you get a banana.

  • @captain-coel said in Skeletons should have a chance to drop items on death.:

@the-portalstorm would have to be like 1% I think 5 would just be way too high.

5% is too high?! I don't know how you do math man but 5% is not high at all

  • @the-portalstorm 5% IS high. that means 1 our of every 20 has a skull waiting for you. i mow through skeletons most days. so having that high a percent would mean everyone would get skulls all the time. I think it would be appropriate if 1% were the case. That way it would be a nice treat after a hard day of blasting bones.

  • @sandmanbakery thank you

@the-portalstorm as sandman said it's high when its 1 in 20. For example on an athena mission I probably kill an average of 200 bone skellies every mission. A wave of gold can have 10 skellies in it. That's a 50% chance. It needs to be low but I think it should be there

  • I'd like them to drop bananas if you kill them before they eat and ammo if they have guns...?

  • I do also REALLY like the idea of them dropping some ammo, or a banana. even if it's only one bullet. as for frequency of the drop for said items, i think that if you slay a gun skeleton you should only get an bullet if you and them have the same gun (ex. kill pistol skelly for a pistol bullet). i know that bullets are universal, this would simply be for balance. they would leave a pouch on the ground that is picked up automatically if you are lower than full on ammo for that weapon. to save the stress of the server having to render this, it would be rendered on your pc (so only you can see it) and only you would be able to pick it up {you have to be the one to deliver the final blow}.

  • @sandmanbakery
I probably wouldn’t even pick it up because it’s a foul. I suggested the OP’s idea in a post on another account a long time ago and I said one in eight skeletons would give you 10g straight up and a villainous(.5%) or a hateful(1.5%) could spawn as a very rare drop. Not great odds but at least there would be a small incentive to kill large hoards.
