Time and time again the devs at Rare have said this game is about creating stories, so why don't we have a journal of our experience? The entire Tales from Sea of Thieves book is pretty much this concept. This would add so much to the game.
Imagine:
-
This an item in game, not a menu. You can hold up it up like a map, flip to pages and show your friends.
-
Customization: Its your book, your stories you can buy different skins for the book. Or find them from killing some pretty tough skellies.
-
It would replace the random placement of the Rat Adventure menu slot (and anything in the future). I am talking about when you hit tab you see your rep, I really feel that the Rats panel shouldn't be there. So where do you put them? In the journal. It is an adventure, you need to keep track of it in a journal!
-
What things would go in the journal? EVERYTHING! Distant sailed(i know you can view this in the achievement window), pirate kills, skeleton kills, pirates met, skull forts taken down, when you hit pirate legend it takes a screen shot of where you were at and puts it in the journal and you can show your friends. You could survey the islands. There could be a chapter of island and you can discover the landmarks and when you do they populate your Journal. The possibility are endless.
I would like to hear what you guys think and hope this idea gets traction.
