Internal Ship Cosmetics & Customization

  • Ahoy, mateys!

I've voiced my opinion before and no doubt so have many of you, I want my ship to be my own, and not just something I'm borrowing. Along with captaincy, ship ownership and naming ships, I'd love and appreciate more depth to ship customization.

External ship cosmetics are great, but what about internal? I've always felt both ships felt rather empty and dull, but most importantly unlived. Ships are where you'll spend a majority of your time, so shouldn't they be somewhat homely? Besides the Galleon's captain's quarters, where will the crew sleep? At the very least, a few cots here and there in the Galleon and one in the Sloop.

I know the space given was to give players more room for walking about, placing chests and combat, but cosmetic items don't have to get in the way of that, nor should they. I feel that your ship should reflect your avatar and their cosmetic choices, not just external paint and flare, but internal as well.

I'd imagine, besides cots and beds, players could choose from a variety of decor such as rugs, paintings, lighting, knick knacks and whatnots. Maybe even turning the captain's quarters into a library. I don't know. It's up to you! Self indulge your vanity!

Just more ways for players to immerse themselves into the world of Sea of Thieves.

What do you think? Let's discuss.

  • Yes this would be great... i dont see why there are so many barrels inside ships i can not use.

  • @blappo-spawn Most on the bottem deck are ballast, which keeps the ship in the water

  • I was just discussing this with a friend the other day. In a lot of cases, the items are already there (rugs, drapes, tablecloths, hull interior, for example), so palette-swapping them shouldn't be too difficult.

  • Man, I so agree with this idea! Would be great if you could just go ham with the on board customization, from creepy, nasty and disgusting to rich, neat and crazy expensive. Maybe even a playable piano, but definitely some hangmats to sleep in.

  • I've always said there should be a hammock or two on the bottom deck, even if it's not something you can interact with.
