I think epic will take good care of the game, Look how well they're doing with fortnite and how well they listen to their community.
We should get EPIC rewards and not RARE Rewards that don't reward us greatly.
Awful idea imo. Epic messed up Gears of War with Judgment and Fortnite was a scam. Don't know about the BR mode but last year they sold a microtransactions filled f2p grindfest game for 40-120€.
I didn't do enough research and bought it, luckily MS gave me a full refund. Won't Be touching Fortnite ever again.
SoT is so much fun, unique and has personality though.

@theunknownd I would feel much more optimistic having them work on this instead of a group of third tier nobodys relegated to kinect hell for the last decade who have apparently never seen or played an online multiplayer game in their lives.
Ouch
That’s multi leveled too, not only are you saying those things that sadly seem somewhat true (third tier though? Damn...) but you are implying that epic actually would do a better job with this game, which honestly with the low pop might even be true.
We need more soon Rare!

He'll no. I bought into fortnite just for them to all but replace it with battle royal. I'll never play an epic game again due to that bull.
They didn't replace it, Fortnite is the PVE mode and the battle royale version is the PVP mode
They didnt replaced anything, They just added a new game mode to their game.

I mean but epic didn't develop judgement fully it was mostly people can fly , fortnite save the world is a fantastic game , but yeah i agree the economy in that game is really scummy in some ways. Im confident they will fix it , they have been the last year mostly they have been very very generous with giving llamas and running events which cost us nothing and we end up with tons of stuff. I think with them being new to free to play they wanted to see what worked and what didn't and see how far they could push more then likely. I dont blame epic for gears judgement i blame microsoft.
@a-cranky-eskimo That was kind of harsh, but I'm frustrated with this title. I want to like it. All my friends quit and moved on to other games though. Just the lack of ... anything that is standard with modern multiplayer games is glaring.
I get that they are new, and perhaps handing an inexperienced crew what was billed as a AAA title in an effort by MS to ride a wave of nostalgia was not the best move. This Rare is not the same company as the one MS acquired though.
Rare is going to need time to learn and grow. By bashing their head into the wall and failing spectacularly at times.
Hopefully the lessons stick and they can adapt and move this game into a title resembling the game being promoted by MS.
I also get that with some things their hands are tied. MS wants mandatory cross platform play. This is not important to me, but to many it is and they are alienating a large portion of their playerbase. Like I said though, I doubt they have much of a choice in the matter. In a game about player choice, the players aren't given much choice at all. Sure, you can play how you want within the confines Microsoft has dictated. But server options for players to craft the experience they want are severely lacking. Matchmaking is still a mess a month after launch.
In a way, I feel bad for them. They're doing the best they can within their limitations. They're going to have to "git gud" though. Sooner rather than later.
They also need to stop with the vague doublespeak and lawyerese and just be blunt. "Look, this is what we have, and this is what we're doing." A little transparency will go a long way.
Despite my venom (and I do believe they have earned it in spades) I am holding out hope that Rare can pull this off. I'll be the first to praise them when they finally grow, learn, and deliver the game they promised.
@JoeySav nope Epic was responsible for multiplayer in Judgment, People Can Fly only did the campaign which was decent. It's My favorite franchise so I'm pretty familiar with it.
Epic tried to take away things that made Gears unique and copy stuff from other games. To make it a mainstream game to the masses. I wouldn't want that to happen for Sea of Thieves. There's plenty of reason I'm sailing the seas instead of playing Fortnite, Destiny, GTAV online etc.
@theunknownd the most useless topic i've ever seen on this forum since i joined.
What the H r you talking about?
1st of all - RARE made something, we bought it and have fun. This is THEIR(RARE) creation. Not someone else, this isn't stolen project, game, mode etc.
Rare isn't listening to their community? I think they're listening very well.
Myabe it is you and your thinking that this game should be something else?

That is exactly what makes this game great and unique. Not even gonna eat the rest of your salt :)
To OP, Epic gets 5% of the revenue of SoT. That's enough.
@nebenkuh This game is definitely not great. Plenty of room to grow into greatness, but for now it is a missed opportunity.
Was this thread really opened after yesterdays patch release and developer update?
People still say Rare doesn't listen to the community?
I don't get the point of replacing the whole developer in a running process and hoping that this will speed things up in the expected direction (in this case: more content i guess).
Rare obviously works on the game, adds new stuff and made balancing changes according to the communities feedback. They even cancel planned ideas if the community speaks up. What more do people expect?

It's a bit of a silly notion, There is a conversation to be had about support though.
The bigger issue is why wont microsoft let this game on steam.
I know why... I just don't think it's clever on microsofts behalf, trying to promote an API that no one cares about. Out with UWP and in with steam release

Becuase Rare don't listen to their community?
And even if they didn't, post like this would probably be the reason.
@mcdougle99 Exclusivity and play anywhere, they are also trying to force there Games for Windows down PC players throats to compete with origin and steam.
