  • Not really candy, but I loved those cookie trays with the icing dip. Dunkaroos I think they were called.

Also I friggin loved dots. I still love dots but I'm afraid to eat them because I have crowns and would hate to need them re attached because dots are basically candy cement.

Most decent sweet shops sell them still, Morrisons (other UK based supermarkets are available) sell them in packets, but they just aren't the same - no fish that cut your inner cheek they're so big!

  • Fry's Five Centres!!

  • Another I loved was a candy bar called "Cabana". It was a bar of moist coconut with cherry pieces, covered in caramel and then covered in chocolate. It went down hill the day they replaced the cherry pieces with melon pieces, due, I believe, to the rising cost of cherries. It was awesome back then.

My dad did the same thing when he picked me up from daycare. It was the strawberry/banana one... it was fun trying to eat it in the middle of summer before everything got all sticky. :P

  • @innerspace-hq - I used to love caramel logs but unfortunately can't get them Down Under.

However I can get Teacakes! :-)

The log is king, for sure, but there's aye room for a teacake! I saw somebody with the teacake beanie hat on the other day, had a wee chuckle.

Don't mean to rub salt in it or anything but I live about a 20 min drive from the factory. Been greedily devouring "off cuts" from friends who work there for about 20 years now - at one point Tunnocks employed loads of folk I know. Ain't nothing wrong with wonky chocolate, especially when it's free. :)

We still sometimes get gifted a big box of caramel wafers at work. Usually round about Christmas. Few hundred bars for 16 staff (we run the place 24/7/365 so nice coffee and chocolate are always welcome gifts) ... Unsurprisingly we never get through them!

When you say you can't get 'em... Have you tried online ex pat stores? They'll deliver the ginger nectar anywhere on the planet just about so I imagine you can get logs and wafers tae.

Probably remember these most fondly because they were a Christmas-only treat in my house growing up :)
