Request: keyboard shortcut to disable HUD

I am aware that I can go to the options menu to manually toggle the HUD on and off, but it would be very useful to have a keyboard shortcut that does this without having to open the menu. Maybe have it default to F1? I know of several games that use those keys for this feature.
