Chest loot tables

  • Has anyone else noticed that the first couple voyages give some really great loot, but then the more you play the c******r they get? My first two voyages today included the chest of sorrow 4 captains chest 5 muarders and 2 seafarers. I played for a good 6 hours and they got worse. My last two voyages were 2 muarders 3 seafarers and 5 castaway chests. Is there a reason they get so horrible the longer you play.

  • @goodehotline that's RNG for you. Is humans are great at seeing patterns in randomness.

  • It's all RNG the higher your rank gets. im 25 gold hoarders and within 6 hours i vary from 3 Captains chests the entire time and about 90% are all Castaways or Seafarers

  • I did 4 lvl 25 Goald Hoarder voyages back-to-back. First 3 landed me a whopping total of 4 castaways. 4th one I did got me a chest of 1000 grogs, 2 captains, and a marauder. So I'm having the opposite problem. Playing the game is starting to feel pointless unless I have all day to invest.

(pro tip: start a voyage while you're still at the outpost, and you'll have room to pick up a 4th)

  • I'm probably paranoid, but I can't keep wondering about the issue Destiny 2 had with diminishing rewards the longer you stayed online.

However, I did notice that once you reach level 20 in either company, the rewards don't seem to improve, or just get worse. The voyages are longer, but you still get crummy loot a lot of the time. I've had some pretty insulting rewards, a chest for 76G after purchasing an 80G voyage.

Some of the post level 20 voyages take a while and offer multiple chests/skulls/etc... but the time and effort required makes them feel less profitable. I've totally given up on Trading voyages for the time being and grudgingly take Souls voyages from time to time.
