Loot Rarity

  • Why can't you developers figure out that you should add a ton of diverse loot to the game—and, most importantly, ensure that this loot varies in rarity: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and so on—as far as your imagination allows? Why do you think players enjoy grinding for the exact same rewards over and over again? Why can't I just run across an island, stumble upon a legendary item by pure chance, and get that massive dopamine rush? Why am I forced to complete the same repetitive activities when I already know exactly what I'm going to get? Once I finished all the available activities, I dropped the game because there was simply nothing left for me to do. It’s a real shame, too, because I absolutely loved it at first; but the game completely lacks a system for random rewards—there is no thrill to be found in the items you get from completing activities! Make it so that ultra-rare loot—like Legendaries—drops very infrequently, but when it does, it absolutely blows your mind with pure satisfaction. Make Epic gear less rare but still valuable, and follow that same logic for everything else. There is simply no incentive to keep playing when you already know exactly what you're going to receive.

    I think they like saving those types of loot/rewards for voyages of luck, gilded voyages, time-limited, etc. They need to keep them rare for the dangling carrot, otherwise there'd be no incentive for anyone to do it, or for another player to come over and contest you for it.

    I'm sorry you feel as though you have nothing to do. I've been distinction 5 with all the factions for a long time now, and still I log on to have fun and cause shananagins with my friends. We've made hilarious clips and videos of our antics, and each time I sail, something new always happens. We create our own fun, and make amazing memories, and perhaps new friends. I also don't mind helping my friends grind whatever rep or achievements they're looking to earn as well.

    The game is what you make of it.

    Athena items: Never see ships with these.

    Why can't I just run across an island, stumble upon a legendary item by pure chance

    Reaper Chest? Ashen Chest and be "dug up" random chance.

    Why am I forced to complete the same repetitive activities when I already know exactly what I'm going to get?

    Again players using the word "Forced" when they arent being forced to do anything.
