  • i mean if you look up sea of thieves in the dictionary thats pretty much the description. steady improvements since release but lack of focus and same mechanics breaking over and over as time goes on. not sure what you mean by lobby though if your talking seeing sail from the title screen or being in the tunnel waiting for a pvp match. but yea the games probably in chaos right now. they know diving has been bad for the game. they also know servers are feeling empty so they are making the servers try to fill up more. problem could be that its trying to find you a spot but so many ships are in the waiting tunnel from diving right now that we have multiple systems creating a compounding issue. when we dive off a server that whole waiting tunnel thing still keeps us on our previous server until it finds a match, then we merge over to that server. so between servers being full because people are in the waiting tunnel. to servers just being naturally full and someone might be in que for hourglass but no one can invade. and the fact we have a weekend fomo event going on...

  • can we please just update to vulkan

  • Could be your outdated machine.

  • @burnbacon no it isnt yours outdated who still use dx12 its 2026 you need 30 year old pc to not run vulkan your system is outdated

  • i have rtx 3050 & my brother runs xbox series both lags & take forever you need to update your systems to vulkan

  • @thedefender4311 i dont see a need to update to rtx 50 most games still requires gtx 1080

  • Micrsoft is behind DirectX, so I wouldn't be holding your breath on Rare, a Microsoft company, switching to Vulkan, an open-source API.

Vulkan is also, AFAIK, not supported on consoles and, while it can lead to better performance on some Windows systems and in some games, it mostly shines on Linux.

As for the issues mentioned, this has less to do with the API and more to do with netcode and server performance causing long wait-times. Trying to play the game within 48 hours of an update, I would expect such issues. While Azure Playfab servers should scale to fit the population, it doesn't always seem to happen fast. And with Microsoft's shift to focusing on AI, I wouldn't be counting on it improving any time soon.
