Double Edge sword. Bu they, simply having loot on your ship is Dangerous, doing a Fort solo is dangerous. Without danger in the mix, game becomes boring and stale.

Put the rowboat in the water next to the shore. Turn the rowboat pointing the shore. Have a plank ready then light the fuse and jump off the bow of the rowboat onto the island. Time it so you can jump onto the rowboat and plank it before it disappears.
