Suggestion: It would be nice for RARE to show a bit more activity in here...

  • 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th page that has a boat load of topics (150+) without a single RARE employee/dev replying to any.
I lost count of when the last post someone decided to leave a comment about an idea/suggestion, you could go further back and fail to see that RARE logo attached to a topic showing that someone in the team has replied to a suggestion idea.

    1. We understand they are probably not getting paid to comment on the job, reasonable.
    2. We understand that going through each and every single post can be a waste of time and lead to burnouts when several low quality surface level ideas are made each day and/or bumped up by comments.
    3. We understand that they don't and should not answer to every single one of them as mentioned in the above point...

What I'm getting at is that we often times feel unheard and rightfully so. I read almost every suggestion post the past year and no replies from a RARE official outside of one reply, are they not motivated or care enough to engage with the community? Sure a debate could be had, but looking into it it seems that way.

People claiming the devs ''read/lurk'' is also a scapegoat because how could you prove that outside of hearsay and theory? It's a lazy excuse imo.

And it always loops back to one of the biggest complaints is that the communication from them is often poor, yet alone delivering on these promises. Ok they re-introduced almost monthly podcasts after years of not doing it etc. Good job in that regard, I wish they answered more questions from the community, outside of waffling about how each one of them looks today. (It's a good vibe but when that takes a chunk of the video time out, it becomes tiring honestly).

The mods/Community Managers on the Official Discord keep bringing up to post in +Suggestions here, pulling up a grin that your suggestion will be heard and taken into account, which is a load of ... I get that's what they are taught what to do since this is place to not clog up Tavern Chat over there. But putting on the extra act has to go unless proven otherwise.

So enough complaining and onto the resolution

Have a RARE dev take a look once every two weeks to skim read topics that seem interesting to them and either agreeing or shutting down the idea with a reasoning or two.
Just a simple comment or even a story about how they thought about it in the past and the reasoning they never committed to it etc. Basically turning up and showing their faces is more then enough for people to be felt like they are being heard.

Once again I'm not asking for intervention for every topic ever made, but a simple comment to a couple of posts EVEN once a month is plentiful to show they are present and not pretending to be.
There's really only positives in the grand scheme of things if they went ahead and do this, it would rejuvenate discussions, people would put more thought and effort into making topics knowing that they are genuinely watching with a possibility of leaving a comment, I mean there's a lot of upsides that out weigh the negatives.

OR they simply don't care about any of this and are stubborn stuck to their upcoming and planned seasons...

There's really only positives in the grand scheme of things if they went ahead and do this,

No there aren't; even taking the time to justify replying to one post over another (similar) topic is time taking away from actual devopment. Not all devs are completely aware of precise information on new things developed by other teams. They might say something that may be done different in a next season and people will be less thna nice if something they anticipated turns out something completely different. So the dev that would be giving some information has to go back-and-forth with one or more teammembers about the actual direction or cause even more issues with the playerbase than the current situation.

Plus, people not being able to actual understanding what is written, taking their own interpretations and causing even more desinformation because the devs won't be aware of someone posting on another platform.

AFAIK there are people going through the (feedback) forum and other social media and reporting that to the dev team at large.
You calling it a scapegoat "because it cannot be proven", doesn't make it less probable this is actual true.

  • Just because they don’t spend every waking moment. Looking on there own forums at a near endless category of “feedback” that is more or less, just complaints.

Doesn’t mean they don’t have a group who don’t read or at least monitor….they don’t have to comment. That what there videos and Social Media posts are for

But it’s good they aren’t commenting. Means they are Busy!

  • Go look at the diablo forums.
Devs are never in there lol.

  • To be fair, I wish we had a counter on these forums for how many times people keep suggesting the same things we've answered many times before, and the mods pop in to repeat the same things again and again. Pve servers, Arena coming back, cheaters, Outposts should be a safe zone, etc.

I hope the employees have much more pressing matters to contend to in my opinion.

  • @veronik5682 the CMs do watch what is put in here and devs definitely are lurking posts. Just based on things I've put out there and then seen I can confirm that. Like I have absolutely no expectation for devs to sit here and tell me when my feedback impacts a decision surrounding the game 💀 Like what're they gonna do? Put that in a log so weeks or months later they can go back and let me know? Or just leak updates all the time? Nah. Doesn't make sense. It's also not what they are supposed to be doing. I have my thoughts on their communication, but I think it wise for me to not discuss those. Besides I really don't care.
