1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th page that has a boat load of topics (150+) without a single RARE employee/dev replying to any.
I lost count of when the last post someone decided to leave a comment about an idea/suggestion, you could go further back and fail to see that RARE logo attached to a topic showing that someone in the team has replied to a suggestion idea.
- We understand they are probably not getting paid to comment on the job, reasonable.
- We understand that going through each and every single post can be a waste of time and lead to burnouts when several low quality surface level ideas are made each day and/or bumped up by comments.
- We understand that they don't and should not answer to every single one of them as mentioned in the above point...
What I'm getting at is that we often times feel unheard and rightfully so. I read almost every suggestion post the past year and no replies from a RARE official outside of one reply, are they not motivated or care enough to engage with the community? Sure a debate could be had, but looking into it it seems that way.
People claiming the devs ''read/lurk'' is also a scapegoat because how could you prove that outside of hearsay and theory? It's a lazy excuse imo.
And it always loops back to one of the biggest complaints is that the communication from them is often poor, yet alone delivering on these promises. Ok they re-introduced almost monthly podcasts after years of not doing it etc. Good job in that regard, I wish they answered more questions from the community, outside of waffling about how each one of them looks today. (It's a good vibe but when that takes a chunk of the video time out, it becomes tiring honestly).
The mods/Community Managers on the Official Discord keep bringing up to post in +Suggestions here, pulling up a grin that your suggestion will be heard and taken into account, which is a load of ... I get that's what they are taught what to do since this is place to not clog up Tavern Chat over there. But putting on the extra act has to go unless proven otherwise.
So enough complaining and onto the resolution
Have a RARE dev take a look once every two weeks to skim read topics that seem interesting to them and either agreeing or shutting down the idea with a reasoning or two.
Just a simple comment or even a story about how they thought about it in the past and the reasoning they never committed to it etc. Basically turning up and showing their faces is more then enough for people to be felt like they are being heard.
Once again I'm not asking for intervention for every topic ever made, but a simple comment to a couple of posts EVEN once a month is plentiful to show they are present and not pretending to be.
There's really only positives in the grand scheme of things if they went ahead and do this, it would rejuvenate discussions, people would put more thought and effort into making topics knowing that they are genuinely watching with a possibility of leaving a comment, I mean there's a lot of upsides that out weigh the negatives.
OR they simply don't care about any of this and are stubborn stuck to their upcoming and planned seasons...
