Seeing the Kraken a lot more now and it's great. Four times in two days :)
It's way too easy for sloop though, especially if there's two players on the boat.
It's fun when your on Brig or Galleon, a lot harder, more tenticles etc.

Same as ever really it's only a threat if pvp also involved. They have acknowledged on twitter they're looking into the spawn rates. The patch notes stated it was an attempt to cycle world events quicker (with them not needing to wait for gaps around krakens) and that frequency of kraken wouldn't change so seems like unintended consequence
It definitely needs to be dialled back.
Solo slooper and I have had it spawn on me in the skelly fleet, during a storm, fighting the galleon. Storm meant I could not line up shots on kraken and galleon oneballed me to sinking.
I also sent ship sailing off slowly to engage in a sneak attack and my vacant ship was kraken'd, ultimately sinking.
This level of PvE is just frustrating and feels broken.
