Still having the strawberry beard ps5 issue, when are they going to fix it?
Strawberry beard ps5 error
I have around 400 hours and spent a lot of money on micro transactions with this game on my Steam Deck and just got a PS5 and decided to buy it again and haven't been able to play it since I bought it a week ago because of this crazy Strawberrybeard Error.
I would definitely spend more money in this game if I could actually get into it and play it.
Has anyone tried to contact Sony for a refund???
Yeah at first I thought it was a problem with the email/ps5 account link, or something, but I’m glad I’m in good company here. Sea of thieves is a very relaxing game, been craving the feeling in these stressful times, sucks that I can’t play it.
I’m also just super disappointed in how long it’s taken the devs to find a fix. It must be a pretty niche issue. Does anyone have a contact, or a way up the chain of command? I know someone emailed First Mate something or other, I wonder if we all spam him this problem would finally get more attention
(Playing on PS5) I got past it, I think its the same issue with Minecraft where you’re supposed to use the same account you first linked the psn to. Maybe it conflicts or something but I guess I tried logging to the wrong account. So what I ended up do is I basically deleted my saved data through my system storage so that I could re-sign in again. Then I used the original account I linked my psn with and I got past.
For me, the error seems to be associated with the linked Microsoft account. When using an account that I played with on pc in the past, I was continuously given the Strawberrybeard error. However, after putting in a new one that had never been used for sot before, the game worked. It sucks that I can’t play as a pirate legend right now, but at least I can play the game.
@atxdaddy9802 your actually right I was signed in with the wrong account this full time if I was still getting the strawberrybeard error I would check all of the Microsoft live accounts I had and try them bc that’s what I did and it worked. Turns out this problem wasn’t because of rare we were just pretty silly
Played the game for a bit. Deleted it to make room for another game. Re-downloaded it later, Strawberrybeard error. Restarted PlayStation. Renewed licenses. Deleted local and online saves. Re-downloaded.Re-registered. Created a new Microsoft account. Nothing works. Strawberrybeard. About two weeks now.
For everyone who's still struggling with this issue
I know this solution might be frustrating because of losing your whole progress
Btw.. this error comes from the wrong Microsoft account you were associate to your PS5 account
for me myself I can't remember which one of my Microsoft accounts was the right oneHowever.. what I did atleast to play was creating a new playstation account on PSN, Turn on my console sharing on my main account and login with the new one and play.. Connect this one to a new microsoft account and Enjoy playing Sea of thieves
have a good Journey
Go to settings - Saved data and game/app settings - Saved data (PS5) - Console Storage - And delete the sea of thieves saved data
For anyone having this issue the problem for me was signing in with the wrong Microsoft acc that wasn’t linked up to my sot acc @sweptpandora276 said in Strawberry beard ps5 error:

Piggybacking on this. I had gotten this last summer. Played, deleted it for space, then tried to play again. I forget the error code, but it kept telling me that the account I was trying to link wasn't the one that I had originally linked. Long story short, Rare, Microsoft, and Playstation all refused to help for some arbitrary reason, when the account was definitely the one I had linked. Now, months later, I try playing again on the off chance something fixed itself. Got excited when the account link issue didn't come back, but then find this issue has been going on for a month.
@yayowak12 were you also having an issue where it kept saying you need to link to the original account when it absolutely was that account?
Bought the game today for PS5 and hit the same issue. I stumbled across this thread after about 2 hours of wasted troubleshooting, thinking it was a problem on my side. I've tried creating a new PS account, Microsoft account, removing game data, reinstalling the game entirely, but get the same error.
I've put in multiple support tickets over a span of 3 weeks over this issue, all I've gotten have been ambiguous responses saying this is a "known issue that the team is actively working on." Glad to see this is being talked about on the forums. This issue really highlights one of the biggest issues with live service games.
My boyfriend is having the same issue. Did the delete save data and relink. When I had him re log into his Microsoft account to do the link it automatically gave him a different gamer tag than when he originally signed up? Last time we played was last year. Not sure if because of inactivity it did that? Has anyone encountered that with the PS5? He swears he didn’t create a new account and just logged in with his old info but it isn’t his same gamertag? I’m on x box and can get in fine obviously but it is really frustrating we can’t play it now. We played it just fine last year so I don’t understand.
@peachespoison he is trying to sign in with the wrong account I recommend trying all of his Microsoft accounts as one of them will be the right account
