Idea On How To Port To Unreal 5

    Hello Rare, I have an idea on how to upgrade to Unreal Engine 5. I'm aware that you have stated no plans for this any time soon, but I feel like it would be necessary to do eventually, so I figured I would give an idea on how to do it.

    How it'd work on the store is pretty much how Microsoft Flight Simulator updated from 2020 to 2024. Basically, making a new game, but with all the same features, and improving on perfermance. Maybe a few new features as well. When it releases, the old game would still be playable (maybe swapping to offline, depends on if there's enough servers to have both), but the new game would be only for the latest consoles and PC.

    This would take time, yes, but I feel it would be worth it if the original game can't be updated easily.

    @ghastlyloki4216 they are in the middle of developing another title, I doubt they would be willing to rebuild SoT from the ground up in UE5z plus UE5 has its own issues especially performance on lower end hardware. At that point they might as well make SoT 2.

    Do you realise that transferring the implemented functions to a new engine will require huge money and human resources?

    @ixxxoloff yep. It’s so frustrating that Microsoft will not provide the capital and resources to do this for such a staple game with infinite potential to categorically be one of the best.
