I honestly believe this would be the perfect curse to put behind the “legendary hunter of the sea of thieves” commendation. Give people a reason to do the hunters call fishing commendations. It’s such a grind and it is actually perfect to have this curse behind that! PLEASE DONT PUT THIS IN EMPORIUM BEHIND A PAY WALL. It will take no effort to get. That is the fun in the curses is the grind it takes to achieve them. Please someone agree with me that this curse should be something that’s a grind to obtain! This one looks cool. I don’t wanna be able to just pay for it

I'd be far more sympathetic to the plea from players if I didn't watch them cheese rewards season after season to be the first batch on the socials with pics.
Every grind in this game in recent seasons has received criticism for being too grindy. Which then leads to burnout and people taking long breaks and a lot of frustration, while sot twitter is showing off what they cheesed in one way or another.
I get it but I also see what people are up to every season. It's not a consistent view.
I wish the passion for significance was used for pushing against all the box of secret cheesing that has been going since pop up plunder started lol.
But when people benefit personally they tend to be more open to that significance nerf.
People are trying to preserve status, not significance. I'm not invested in status, if people wanna buy a curse then go for it.
I agree on your sentiment. It would be a great reward for one of the longest grinds in the game and give the criminally underdeveloped Hunter's Call at least something new.
However, from a business standpoint, I understand why that would never be of much interest to Rare. Any emporium purchase is more valuable to the company than a pirate grinding their heart away for hours.
I never cared for any kind of 'flex' inside of the game, only going for cosmetics that I find aesthetically pleasing. Curses were never one of them, I find them a bit too much personally.
