This game has always had a bit of an issue with tech debt for quite a while, but never has it been more clear than now. With the sheer number of posts talking about it here lately, and the number of people else ware talking about not being able to play the game or getting horrible reg issues to this day, there is no denying that the game is not in a good place.
I do hope since they mentioned dedicating a team to bug fixing (which i thought they stated before was being done), that this means the state of the game will massively improve. But stating that bug fixes in the past would take a back seat behind major content but that they are changing it so technical issues would take priority, this makes me wonder why that was never the case before since a functional game is needed to even enjoy the content provided.
While this may be a little long winded, what im trying to get at is that with all of the amazing content to come, i honestly think if it is needed, even though it is not exactly fun and some people complain when it happens, if the game is not in a state to launch the new features when the time comes i believe it should be delayed in favor of game health. If there is a delay for that sake, it would be best to be direct and explain in detail why to alleviate frustrations, but game health and longevity should take priority over people who are impatient to get new content.
The best way to put this all though. I do not care how amazing the content in a game is if i cant even play the game. And that should be the most basic understanding of creating a game for people. I want a good game, but more than anything, i want a functional game over any amazing content, and i can imagine many would agree.
